I have mailed you the pics.
The type locality just denotes where the type specimen used to describe the species was collected from. If you are worried about the range, fishes are not worried about State borders so they can still have a wide range. After so many collection trips you would know that by now.

Yups Beta I do. I was just trying to bottom it out with anguilla for eg., just like P.mahecola & P.amphibius where both look very similar the difference being the former caught down south and the later in the northern parts of the ghats.

The "Schistura nilgiriensis" biotope......
The "Schistura semiarmatus" biotope
Flora was in plenty, So a Loach only biotope can host several plants. "Lagenandra species" in the biotope.

Nayak. |

Couple of shots that I could manage (please excuse my photography skills)
Schistura nilgirensis
Note: Not all S nilgiriensis show such colors. Few of them are a bit and some are totally bland looking. They show such colors for a very short time. This guy is an exception. |
