 thanks  all.....

 @Rahul:  the  rear  corner  is  a  slope  of  about  6  inch  in  height  and  the  tank  is  15  inch  in  height.  the  hair  grass  is  almost  touching  the  water  but  the  water  surface  is  around  0.5  inch  below  the  top.  so  the  height  of  the  hairgrass  is  around  8  inches.

 Now  I  know  why  experts  dont  suggest  e.acicularis  for  FG.
 Anyway,  all  I  can  say  is...what  a  thick  growth(hairgrass)!  Surprised  I  wonder  if  fishes  can  get  through  it.

 About  scape,  your  focal  point  got  very  centralized,  a  little  towards  left  would  have  been  better.
 I  really  liked  your  tank  updated  as  on  April  02  minus  the  red  rock  and  the  horizontal  piece  of  wood(extending  right  from  the  wood  pile).  Also  its  good  to  keep  trimming  mosses,  it  grows  thick  and  tight  after  every  trim.

 A  question  for  the  experienced...what  happens  if  we  trim  down  the  hairgrass  to  2"  height  with  sharp  scissors?  Will  it  die  away  or  grows  back  again  like  lawn  grass?

 @shubhankar:   Very Happy
 @Hamza:  that  old  tank  was  good  but  i  wanted  hairgreass  there  as  it  is  sooooo  low  maintainance.  infact  i  will  let  cuba  go  after  i  start  a  new  tank  with  HC  and  fill  the  space  with  marselia  type  plants  and  then  leave  it  to  God  Chuckle  .  i  mean  no  trimming  replanting  etc.  i  know  how  pain  HC  can  be  when  it  uproots  and  you  have  to  replant  it.

 the  fish  cannot  go  through  it  and  the  big  shrimps  cannot  either.  and  i  trimmed  the  grass  to  2  inches  on  the  right  and  it  grew  back  in  10  days.

 have  got  4  boesemani  rainbows(1.5  -  2  inches)  in  there  and  i  am  waiting  for  them  to  grow  big.  any  idea  how  long  will  it  take  for  them  to  get  good  colors?

 Thanks  for  the  details  on  hairgrass!  How  is  hairgrass  doing  in  your  5g  nano?

 Bosemani's  should  take  another  6-12  months  to  attain  max  size,  but  hump  keeps  on  growing  slowly  for  a  couple  of  years  in  males.

 hmm....looks  like   along  wait  for  the  boesemani's.  well  the  nano  is  gone.  could  not  maintain  two  planted  tanks  so  got  rid  of  it.  that  is  why  i  am  making  it  maintainance  free  so  that  i  can  put  all  my  energy  in  my  new  scape.  so  far  the  dimensions  that  appeals  me  as  24  x  16  x  15.

 let  me  see  if  i  can  think  of  some  good  scapes  surrounding  it.

 Nice  shot!
 All  males  is  my  guess.  Females  are  hard  to  come  by,  and  they  even  more  pale  at  this  size.

 thanks  Hamza,  2  of  them  look  a  little  rounder,  and  same  time  a  little  less  in  color  so  i  thought  they  were  females.  but  it  is  supposed  to  be  a  schooling  fish.  it  does  everything  except  schooling.  Sometimes  the  dominant  male  chases  all  the  other  3  to  near  the  filter.  but  he  never  touches  them.  all  just  display  of  fins  and  a  little  bit  of  dancing  around.  i  really  hope  that  they  grow  fast.

 and  also,  they  eat  dry  blood  worms  but  they  are  just  ignoring  the  tetra  bits.  i  so  much  want  them  to  eat  the  tetra  bits  but  they  refuse  to  do  so.  i  starved  them  for  2  days  but  no  change.

 Hi  all,  finally  on  the  popular  demand  i  have  got  a  background  today  for  my  tank  and  removed  the  jumbo  filter  from  the  front  and  also  there  are  no  visible  wires  dangling  in  the  back.
