If  it  was  leaches,  it  would  not  have  hurt,  had  lots  of  leach  experience  when  I  was  in  Sirsi,  Kumaraparvata  etc.  It  will  take  a  long  time  to  heal.

You  wouldn't  say  that  when  you  have  50  odd  leaches  stuck  to  you  and  after  rubbing  salt  to  get  rid  of  them.   Now  that's  what  people  say  Rubbing  salt  on  the  wound.   The  worse  part  was,  if  you  stood  to  remove  one,  you  will  invite  another  10.
We  really  did  miss  some  video  footage,  in  which  case,  we  would  have  challenged  Spielberg's  Alien  Sci-Fi  Horrors.

Here  are  some  dialogues  after  we  returned:

Nayak:  I'm  quitting  the  hobby  unless  Menaka  Gandhi  suggests  my  name  for  Paramveer  Chakra.
Rahul:  These  F*****  danios  dont  deserve  so  much  blood  shed.
Beta:   If  my  wife  comes  to  know  about  it,  I'm  done.
Myself:  Throw  these  SOB  danios  back,  im  gona  be  happy  with  guppies.

Next  time  carry  Lemon  Eucalyptus  oil,  and  rub  it  on  all  exposed  parts,  cover  your  legs  well.
It's  not  the  common  Eucalyptus  oil  that  you  need,  but  Lemon  Eucalyptus  oil,  extract  of  a  tree  found  in  Australia.

There's  one  oil  more  used  by  our  Defence  Forces  that  keeps  away  even  snakes,  but  they  don't  divulge
the  name  for  it.  It's  highly  effective  until  you  have  a  shower.  The  best  I've  tried  personally.

I  used  a  mild  solution  of  chuna  applied  to  the  legs  (the  one  we  use  with  pan).

As  long  as  you  are  walking/moving  around  you  wont  have  any  leaches  climb  up  your  legs.  Its  when  you  stand  in  one  place  that  they  attack!  this  method  is  pretty  useless  once  you  get  in  the  water.  but  for  treks  or  walking  works  just  fine.
