Those  are  some  really  interesting  picture...  A  breeding  pair  of  cichlids  means  24/7  entertainment...

Ganesh,  you  are  right.  Only  true  cichlid  breeder  can  understand  this.  You  must  be  having  fun  watching  your  lil  Texas.

 Adesh  ,

Pl  note  some  of  the  fries  are  still  there   at  the  bottom  corner  of  the  tank  and  had  not  gone  over  the  parents  .  These  fries  are  attracted  towards  darker  shade  at  the  bottom  ,  just  clean  that  black  portion  ,  all  fries  has  to  go  on  to  the  parents  .

Rightly  said  Shiva  sir.  According  our  conversation,  I  did  that  and  all  of  the  frys  are  attached  to  parents  again.

BTW,  I've  started  feeding  them  freshly  hatched  BS  (BS  which  are  hatched  after  24  hrs).  Only  few  of  the  frys  seem  interested  in  them.  I  guess,  it  will  take  some  time  for  others  to  join  the  company.

Shankar,  those  are  308  fries  to  be  exact.

BTW,  I've  seen  few  tiny  guys  in  the  lot.  Anything  which  I  need  to  do  in  order  to  make  them  to  the  size  as  their  siblings?

Happens  often,  when  you  have  many  fish.  Some  quick  ones  finish  the  food  first  and  some  dont  get  to  eat  well  enough.  If  you  have  already  begun  to  feed  them  on  BBS,  make  sure  there  is  always  some  more  extra  live  BBS  in  their  tank.  This  would  suffice  for  the  tiny  ones,  once  the  quick  ones  are  done.

Size  variation  among  frys  is  common  phenomenon  as  aggressive  eaters  grow  fast  than  their  weaker  &  shy  siblings.
Once  they  are  free-swimming  &  start  taking  BS  feed,  you  can  separately  grow  smaller  &  weaker  ones  (just  like  we  do  for  juveniles).
Would  avoid  over-feeding  of  BS  in  frys  tank  &  keep  water  condition  clean  rather.

Thanks  Abhi  da,  Will  certainly  take  care  per  my  best  of  efforts  and  I  know  there  are  few  of  them  which  you   are  eying  on  :)

 Yogesh/Shankar

Right  now  I'm  doing  WC  twice  a  day  (almost  around  90%).  And  BS  feed  once  in  a  day,  as  my  BS  hatchery  is  giving  problems  with  hatching  in  other  containers.  Will  be  sorting  out  the  problem  soon.

I  plan  to  remove  parents  this  weekend  and  start  feeding  them  some  dried  food  (Tetrabits/Hikari  powdered  and  then  soaked  in  water).  This  will  be  the  time,  where  I  will  be  working  on  those  tiny  guys.  Having  them  separate  tank  is  not  on  my  plan  as  I'm  currently  short  of  tanks  and  it  will  be  very  cumbersome  for  me  to  have  regular  WCs  in  2  tanks  :(

 How  does  it  sound?

When  can  I  start  giving  them  BHM?

 Adesh,

See  if  you  can  arrange  for  4-5  small  feedings  of  freshly  hatched  BS  for  fries  during  the  day.  It  is  fine  to  grow  all  frys  together  in  case  you  donot  have  spare  tank  for  growing  weaker  ones.  Dry  food  like  Hikari  FirstBites  is  ok  but  freshly  hatched  BS  is  best  food  for  their  swift  growth.

Do  not  hurry  feeding  BHM  to  frys  because  their  digestive  system  is  not  fully  developed  at  tender  age  for  heavy-protein  food  like  BHM.  Once  they  attain  like  50p  coin-size  you  can  start  feeding  small  quantity  of  crushed  BHM  &  so  on.

Yogesh,  The  BS  hatchery  is  back  in  form  and  it  has  started  producing  hatched  BS.  Currently  I'm  feeding  them  BS  twice  a  day  and  finely  powdered  Hikari  discus  bio  gold.  I  hope,  its  ok.

About  removing  parents,  as  I  mentioned  I'm  planning  to  acclimate  them  to  community  tank  this  weekend.  i.e.  19th  day  after  wriggling  stage  of  fries.
