 Guys,

please  help  me.  Probable  tank  size  10'x2'x2'.  Planted,  high  tech.  Not  interested  in  sump.
 Urgent.

 Thanks  in  advance.

Is  that  going  to  be  a  planted  tank?

How  about  a  couple  of  eheim  2028  or  maybe  pro  3?

Sump  would've  been  the  best  bet  Smile  I  don't  think  you  can  do  with  just  one  canister  for  a  tank  that  size,  couple  of  the  largest  avble  canisters  should  work
 Rgds

If  you  can  get  hold  of  couple  of  2260  or  2262  that  would  work.  You  can  also  try  for  Fluval's  fx5.  But  I  have  no  idea  of  availability  of  these  in  India.

 Dev,
If  you  prefer  having  single  one,  Eheim  2080/2180  (Pro3)  or  2078  (Pro3e)  would  just  be  perfect  for  such  huge  tank.

 Deepak,
I  guess  Eheim  have  stopped  fresh  production  of  2250/2260  under  Classic  series.

Thanks  a  ton  to  all  of  you.

Instead  of  going  for  1  canister,  I  believe  that  it  is  advisable  to  go  for  2,  2250s.
Would  like  to  know  about  its  performance,  from  people.
Is  there  any  advantage  if  gone  with  Pro  3  series  of  filters  than  a  classic  like  2250?

This  is  a  background  work  being  done  for  a  project  presentation,  nothing  has  yet  been  finalised.

 Dev,

 I  would  install  4  numbers  of  2260,  or  4  numbers  of  Pro  3  2080.

This  is  what  is  done  in  professional  setups.

Sumps  dont  actually  appeal  to  me  for  a  planted  setup.  Mainly  because  you  will  lose  CO2  like  crazy  when  you  have  a  sump,  and  that  beats  the  whole  purpose.

What  I  suggest  would  give  you  adequate  place  for  media,  adequate  water  turnover  and  crystal  clear  water.  Then  its  up  to  you.

While  calculating  turnover  of  a  filter,  whats  stated  is  the  raw  output  of  the  pump.  When  you  practically  connect  it,  and  install  media,  you  will  only  get  about  60  to  75  percent  of  the  stated  output,  owing  to  obstruction  by  media  and  head  loss.

And  I  would  actually  suggest  3  feet  height  as  it  makes  a  huge  impact  visually.

 Hope  that  helps!
