Hi Arup:
Welcome to IAH...
Why do you want to buy filter online??
Most of us procure it through LFS...
You name the brand and they'll source it for you...
Buying online may save you the upfront cost; but what about its safe delivery.... handling charges... and duties (as it'll be declared as commercial commodity)...
Bye, |

Hi Arup
I agree with Nag.
Most of the things you require can be procured through local stores.
Also there is issue of after sales support which your LFS would be able to provide.
Online purchases are okay for products of companies which have nationwide service centers and point of sale does not matter.
Many large companies like Haegen, Azoo have local authorised dealers.

I believe in supporting the local dealer - The poor guy is investing money and keeping stock of products for people like you! If you don't support them whom will you run to during emergencies - of-course your LFS! than why not take your custom with him and start a good relationship? - Believe me, there is nothing more important in the hobby than finding a good local aquarium store if you find a good-one! You are half-way towards success! |

Hi arup,
Since you are from Calcutta, I would like get some information from you.
I am now in chicago and bought lot of stuffs online for planted tank that i am gonna setup once I return back. I sent PM to Harsh for getting some information about dealer address in Delhi who is selling the filter. He helped me a lot by providing me the dealer's address. But I am wondering since you have mentioned about the availability of canister filter in Calcutta, I would like to know the dealer's address or ph #.
My seond query is related to CO2 tank, do you have any idea whether it is available in Calcutta or not? And also CO2 refilling cost if available.
Thanks a lot.

Actually there is no dealer in Calcutta. Most of the sellers get their products from Chennai or Bangalore. For Eheim products you'll have to contact Aquazona at Delhi. So you can get a filter here- but choice will be limited and cost higher. Btw you can get a CO2 cylinder here and you can also get a Co2 refill. Though I'm not using pressurised Co2 right now - but it is available in Kolkata. Amitava is using it and there may also be other members. |

Arup thanks a lot for the info.
Actually I was worried a bit about the availability of CO2 tank in Calcutta because I spent a lot for pressurized CO2 system.
I will definately send PM to Amitava for more information.
thanks
