Some  of  these  were  taken  last  year,  i  still  have  most  of  the  specimens  though.

Badis  sp.  'assam',  I  believe  its  still  under  description?

Taken  in  the  photo  tank  as  a  clinical  shot.

Same  fish  in  the  tank,  water  was  supremely  leached  with  tannins.

A  goby  i  picked  up  from  galiff,  not  sure  of  the  ID.  Seems  to  do  ok  in  freshwater,  though  looks  to  be  a  brackish  species.  Thoughts?

 Same  specimen

Young  Channa  marulius,  this  guy  has  very  nice  patterns,  though  i  have  no  idea  what  to  do  with  him  after  he  outgrows  my  setups.

And  last  but  never  the  least,  the  good  old  Channa  aurantimaculata

 More  randoms  coming  soon.

Nice  auranti.  What's  the  size  of  this  guy.  How  big  is  the  tank  you  keep  it  in?

Ben,  I  don't  have  the  auranti  with  me  anymore,  gave  him  off  to  a  friend  when  i  needed  the  space.  When  i  had  him  last  he  was  close  to  13"  or  a  bit  more,  kept  him  in  a  4  footer.

Thanks  Karthick,  unfortunately  no,  haven't  had  the  pleasure  of  collecting  that  particular  species.

Jibran,  will  keep  that  in  mind  whenever  i  get  hold  of  a  diplogramma.  Very Happy  Have  been  tempted  many  times  but  space  constraints  have  always  stopped  me.

 Couple  more  fish  -

Horadandia  atukorali.  Shooting  these  tiny  things  in  a  tank  with  plants  is  back  breaking,  so  plopped  one  in  the  photo  tank.

Chaca  chaca.  Largest  specimen  i  had.  close  to  7".  Trained  it  to  eat  literally  anything,  including  dry  food.  :D

Sorry  for  the  late  reply  guys,

Lawrence,  yes  that's  right,  we're  talking  about  Channa  diplogramma.
And  no,  i'm  not  sure  what  the  goby  is,  still  awaiting  some  inputs.

Hrishi,  the  marulius  is  about  5-6".

Sumit,  Andy,  Hayath  and  Gokul  -  many  thanks.  :)

Vyas,  what  do  you  think  about  the  goby?

Nayak  and  Jibran,  there's  not  much  to  elaborate  on  really,  the  largest  Chaca  I'd  had  for  more  than  a  a  year  before  i  got  some  more  smaller  specimens,  used  to  keep  them  all  together  in  a  30"  tank  with  12"  or  so  of  water.
The  rest  of  the  Chaca  would  strictly  eat  feeders  and  tubifex  after  the  lights  were  out,  but  the  largest  specimen,  mainly  because  of  the  time  i  had  it,  would  readily  eat  whenever  fed.
I  used  to  generally  drop  tubifex  near  its  mouth,  so  one  day  i  dropped  a  few  bits  of  tetrabits  or  something  to  see  if  it  would  eat,  and  it  did.  Reacted  to  the  movement  of  the  food  i  guess.
It  continued  to  always  do  so.
