 Vireesh  and  Hems  -  Thanks  guys  !  Now  if  I  can  only  get  my  CO2  to  work  perhaps  I  can  get  some  red  color  in  my  Wallichi  :)

 Current  gripes  -
 a)  Dwarf  sword  growing  very  light  green/whitish  leaves
 b)  Rotala  has  lost  all  red  hues  -  very  few  returning  now
 c)  Wallichi  -  has  become  a  dull  brown

 Obviously  I  am  missing  CO2,  but  perhaps  some  other  nutrients  ?  Is  my  light/photoperiod  too  much  ?

 "CO2  -  paid  for  for  but  non-operative  due  to  soap  opera  with  LFS"
 what  happened  buddy.

 that's  one  beautiful  tank  btw.
 Rotala:  perhaps  a  little  iron  dosage  and  a  WC(not  sure  though,  leaving  it  to  the  plant  experts)
 but  that's  really  good  for  an  first  attempt.

 peace

 and   "ADA  Brighty  K  -  5-6  Ml  every  day"
 isn't  this  an  overdose  of  potassium.  don't  they  add  it  at  water  changes.(just  curious)

 Light  green  or  whitish  emergent  leaves  are  indicative  of  a  micronutrient  deficiency.
 You  might  want  to  try  CSM+B  or  Rexolin  CXK.  There  are  various  other  micro  mixes  out  there,  I've  found  these  are  the  cheapest.

 While  I'm  not  sure  about  your  tank,  lighting  almost  always  plays  a  role  in  the  color  of  emergent  leaves.

 @inix  -  I  could  be  wrong  but  ADA  specifies  1  ml  (or  what  I  am  counting  as  1  squirt  )  of  Brighty  K  per  20  liters  of  water  every  day  and  then  5  ml  per  10  liters  for  water  changes  (as  a  dechlorinator  I  think).  Hence  with  my  rate  of  water  changes  (20%  3  times  a  week)  I  might  actually  be  underdosing.  Or  am  I  completely  going  off  the  deep  end  here  ????  .....  remember  it  is  my  first  attempt  Smile.  And  well  the  CO2  -  it  is  a  long  soapish  kind  of  story  so  I  will  leave  it  for  another  thread.  Suffice  it  to  say  -  I  am  out  5K  and  dont  have  CO2  ....

 @abhijitk  -  thanks!!  Where  would  I  be  able  to  get  my  hands  one  some  of  these  micronutrients  ?  Preferably  in  Bangalore  ?

 On  a  more  general  note  -  the  LFS  I  was  consulting  before  the  CO2  incident  was  under  the  impression  that  Amazonia  and  Powersand  would  ensure  that  I  dont  need  to  dose  for  at  least  the  first  couple  of  months  with  any  micronutrients  .....  However,  I  started  noticing  the  loss  of  color  and  whitish  leaves  in  my  plants  from  about  two  weeks  in.  What  is  the  general  guideline  here  ?  Should  dosing  with  micro's  start  sooner  ?

 Experts  ?

 @rickg  I  have  no  idea  where  you  might  be  able  to  purchase  those  in  Bangalore.  I'd  look  for  a  store  that  sells  hydroponic  fertilizers,  that'd  be  a  good  place  to  start.

 http://www.pragro.com/PRAGRO_files/RexolineCXK.htm   PR  Agro  import  this  in  India,  you  could  contact  them  about  where  to  purchase  in  Bangalore.  You'll  notice  that  the  iron  content  is  a  low  3.0%,  so  if  you're  using  this  -  you  will  need  to  also  dose  additional  EDTA  Fe  to  supplement  iron  correctly.

 I  use  a  combination  of  Rexolin  CXK  and  Rexolin  E  Fe  13.
 Rexolin  D  12  is  also  a  good  iron  supplement  if  Fe  13  cant  be  found.

 Calculate  the  Fe  dose  here

 @abhijitk  -
   Thanks  again,  just  got  in  touch  with  the  company  -  I  should  be  able  to  pick  up  something  soon.

 @hrishi007  -

 Thanks!  But,  keep  in  mind  all  of  this  is  due  to  the  wonders  of  the  low  res  photo's  allowed  on  the  forum  -  all  the  bad  things  in  the  tank  cant  be  seen  Smile

 looks  like  you  squirt  5  to  6  times  a  day....   Chuckle   (couldn't  help  it)

 Anyway  from  what  i  read  it  says  1ml  of  Brighty  K  to  20  liters  of  water  during  every  water  change  and  btw  the  ph  rises  during  regular  dosage.  (and  lowers  after  a  while  due  to  the  plants,  but  there  will  be  a  definite  rise  in  ph)
 the  Substrate  you  have  is  really  good,  adequate  dosage  of  nutrients  is  always  fine

 and  keep  a  lookout  for  people  like  that.  Thumb Up

 The  suggested  dosing  by  ADA  must  be  with  the  assumption  that  CO2  supply  is  regular.  You  might  actually  be  dosing  more  keeping  in  mind  that  your  CO2  is  not  working.

 And  for  high  res  photos  you  can  use  image  uploading  sites  such  as  Picasa  or  Flickr  and  post  the  link.  We  can  see  the  bad  things  in  your  tank  then  Wink  and  learn  a  few  things

 Btw  nice  tank  ..  hope  it  turns  out  better  with  the  CO2
