Sharing  few  snaps  of  Altum  Flora  I  recently  got.  He  was  bit  unstable  for  almost  two  weeks  since  arrival,  maybe  due  to  transit  stress  from  Singapore.  So  I  didn't  trouble  this  chap  in  the  meantime.  Have  not  measured  his  total  length  by  scale  yet  but  it  should  be  closer  to  8",  his  tail  itself  appears  about  1.5"in  size.  As  now  this  BIG  BOY  have  settled  in  well,  moving  all  around  in  the  tank  like  rejuvenated.  Smile

Close  shot  for  fair  idea  about  his  forehead  thickness.

 Another  shot

For  discus-lovers  curious  about  'Altum  Flora':   Strain  seems  to  originate  from  Vietnam  where  local  breeders  produced  some  amazing  Huge  body  type  strain  known  as  ‘Giant  Flora’.  Jeffrey  Yang  –  a  renowned  breeder  in  Malaysia,  procured  some  juveniles  of  this  strain  &  developed  unique  HFHB  brilliant  blue  turqs  by  selective  breeding.  He  named  this  strain  as  ‘Altum  Flora’  for  their  distinguished  identity  &  ability  to  grow  as  HUGE  size  adults.  Other  than  body  size,  their  noticeable  features  include  extended  dorsal/anal  finnage  &  red  eyes,  not  to  mention  brilliant  blue  pattern  on  the  body.

Thanks  Kiran,  Abhishek  ,  Dev,  Rimpel  &  ALL.

Rajiv  –  Most  welcome,  give  me  a  ring  when  you  are  here.

Swarnendu  –  You  have  a  PM.

Vimal  –  Hope  Blue  Turqs  with  you  are  doing  fine  as  well.  Couple  of  them  had  super  blue  color  &  amazing  thick  stressbars.  I  had  grown  them  from  babies  and  still  miss  them  for  their  beauty  &  aggression.  Please  post  update  on  them  if  you  can.   :-)

Clive  –  Discus  community  on  IAH  have  rapidly  grown  over  the  years.  Lets  keep  it  rolling!

Vivek-  Only  one  piece  as  of  now  of  this  strain.

Ravindran  –  Should  be  min.18  months  old  or  more.  Not  sure  if  it  was  Hans  who  showcased  9"  AF  in  NADA  discus  show  few  months  back.

Biswadeb  –  Looking  forward  to  see  such  beauties  coming  from  you  in  future.
