 Hi  Friends,

Keeping  them  for  about  an  year  and  now  only  could  end  up  with  some  photos.  The  tank  was  a  very  densely  planted  jungle,  and  after  a  heavy  trimming  I  could  see  them  and  actually  count  them!  Thanks  Vignesh,  for  introducing  such  a  lovely  fish....

 Hope  you  like  them  !

They  arent  brigittate,  as  they  dont  have  even  a  little  hint  of  red.  Brigittaes  are  deep  red  in  coloration.

 I  think  they  are  B.urophthalmoides

 Heres  brigittae  for  comparison.

Anyway,  its  a  cute  lil  fish  you've  got  there...  Thumb Up

Jaws,  that  net  is  used  to  cover  the  filter's  water  inlet,  to  safeguard  the  shrimplets.
Thanks  Abhishek.  They  are  low  pH  demanding  but  not  very  really  so.

Yes  Hamza,  thanks  for  the  comments.  This  doubt  we  had  from  the  day  we  got  them.  But  the  same  batch  with  somebody  else  I  heard  is  showing  the  very  red  color.  As  my  tank  is  not  in  the  nearby  range  of  its  required  pH  (my  tank  pH  is  around  7  only)  I  think  this  faded  look.  I  got  it  from  reputed  source/hobbyist  and  we  think  it  is  brigittae!  However  they  are  cute  as  you  say!!

Are  these  macro  shots  with  the  kit  lens?

The  prime  males  would  show  nice  reds  when  the  water  is  really  soft  and  when  they  are  in  the  mood.  Wink

Hi  Prashant,  I  am  glad  you  liked  them.  After  your  visit  only  I  think  I  have  trimmed  the  plants.  However  I  had  to  take  these  shots  stealthily  only!   Chuckle

Hi  Shankar,  the  shots  were  taken  with  50mm/f  1.8  prime  lens.  I  like  that  lens  very  much  for  its  aperture  and  crispiness.

@mridul  &  gangopadhyay:  Glad  that  you  liked  them.  Very  hard  to  see  them  though  in  a  planted  tank.

@Mudassir  :  Now  I  am  really  doubtful  over  the  species.  I  have  to  seek  Suraj's  opinion  in  this.  Please  help  me  Suraj....  Halo

Thanks  Alistair  -  may  be  the  little  PP  gave  the  slight  red  shade  to  have  the  film  effect....
