Hardscape: 2x trees...well roots, redmoor root and Welsh mountain blue stone
Co2: 2xco2 reactors (from Aquamas, Germany, very good quality), 2x 5kg co2 bottles, co2 injected through the two smaller filters.
Just incase some of you did not realise, I am in the UK, not India. I origially came on this site because I was curious to know what the hobby was like in India.
Regarding the Congo, she is the last of a shoal of seven i originally had in 2004 when she lived a 400 litre aquarium along with Peruvian angels, cardinals and Rummys.
Nowadays though i am much more in to keeping and breeding rainbowfish, oh and ofcourse I love those denisoni barbs. Asthetically the tank would look better if i kept only one or two species in larger numbers, but i have to compromise given my interest in rainbows.
I am sure you are all familar with those classic rainbows; the Boesmani, kutubu (Blue) and Praecox(neon). However there are many more species. However even with the commonly found ones, mass production has lead to poorer quality and colour formation. Therefore nearly all the species I keep are now from dedicated Breeders in Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. I few weeks ago I drove to Belgium and brought back several species to the UK. Many are only fry incl Boesmani from lake Aitinjo, smaller and more colourful than the more common Ayamaru boesmani.
I see that you are using quite a few different filters on it and I think you can provide us with some good comparison on performance of each of them.
Goodluck with new rainbows
I have a few filters on different tanks, i would rate the Eheim and the FX5 the best in terms of perfomance and reliability. The fx5 is the most powerful and highest tunower, Eheim 2080 is better for filter media volume and also it is more efficent.
[quote]What do you dose? Is is PMDD/EI or branded fertilizers?[quote]
I use EI with 40-50% weekly water changes. They are not branded ferts, just powder KNO4, KH2PO4 and traces direct into the tank. traces alternate days to the the macros.
