 Guys,

I  have  microsol  2  with  me  how  should  i  make  a  solution  out  of  it,  i  read  a  post  that  say  to  add  few  drops  of  HCL  to  the  solution,  Is  it  really  necessary  to  add  HCL  because  i  don't  know  where  to  hunt  for  it,  also  what  about  MgSO4  shoul  i  add  that  also  to  the  mixture  since  microsl  2  doesn't  contain  Mg  ???

 Thanks

 Yogesh,
You  should  get  all  that  you  want  at  Lohar  Chawl  in  Mumbai.

 Hi

You  can  find  the  Macros  in  the  avenue  road,  but  not  Microsol  B.

You  can  find  Macros(Agricultural  grade)  and  Microsol  B  from  vardhaman  Fertilizers  at  Hebbal.
Please  give  a  call  to  080-23634765  before  you  go.

 Thanks
 Pavan

as  pointed  out  by  a  capable  hobbyist,  some  batches  of  microsol  b  were  nothing  but  powder.  i  know  the  previous  uses  of  microsol  b  used  to  get  genuine  trace  minerals  but  the  one  i  got  2  years  ago  was  useless.

can  anyone  confirm  if  microsol  b  is  again  making  genine  trace  mixes?  And  is  there  an  alternate  indian  brand  i  can  use?  i  live  in  delhi.

Aquaholic  wrote  (View  Post):
To  those  who  want  to  know  how  to  make  D  I  Y  Fertilizers  and  the  dosing  pattern.

I  follow  EI  dosing.  I  make  a  stock  solution  of  all  the  ferts  and  dose  them  thrice  a  week  or  depending  on  nutrient  deficiency.  You  could  either  get  lab  grade  chemicals  or  fertilizer  grade  ones.

 To  make  the  stock  solutions

 K2SO4  stock  solution  =  40  gms  K2SO4  +  500  ml  water
 KNO3  stock  solution  =  40  gms  KNO3  +  500  ml  water
 KH2PO4  stock  solution  =  15  gms  KH2PO4  +  500  ml  water
 Trace  Stock  Solution   =  15  gms  Microsol  B  +  500  ml  water

 Dosing

One  ml  of  K2SO4  stock  solution  in  1  gallon  of  water  will  give  you  8.98  ppm  Potassium
One  ml  KNO3  stock  solution  in  1  Gallon  water  will  give  you  12.26  ppm  Nitrate  and  7.74  ppm  Potassium.
One  ml  KH2PO4  stock  solution  in  1  Gallon  of  water  will  give  you  5.23  ppm  Phosphate
I  do  not  know  how  much  Iron  (fe)  is  there  in  500  ml  Microsol  B  solution  however  as  a  thumb  rule  i  add  5  ml  for  every  40  gallons.

 Your  weekly  targets  should  be

 Potassium  (K)  -   30ppm/  week
 Nitrate  (N)  -   20  ppm/  week
 Phosphate  (P)  -  3  ppm/week
 Iron  (Fe)  -  .5  ppm/week

50%  water  changes  a  week  is  a  must.

The  parameters  above  are  for  heavily  planted  tank,  for  less  planted  tank  you  could  reduce  the  dosing.

 Cheers

 Vince

How  will  be  the  storage  be  ?.....Cold  (refrigerated)  or  at  room  temperature  ???
