well  you  seem  to  be  very  knowledgeable,  to  give  a  reply  which  reflects  such  an  immature  mindset.
just  because  the  fish  are  from  some  other  country  than  here,  it  doesn't  mean  they  taste  any  other  way  than  a  fish  should  taste.

Hi  People,

One  of  the  Moderators  have  already  given  reminder  warning  to  the  user  with  foul  language.  Maybe  duryodhan  had  some  difference  of  opinion  but  he  chose  wrong  path  to  putup  his  thoughts.  Request  everyone  to  refrain  from  personal  attacks  which  may  induce  counter-attack  from  other  member  thus  going  flamewar  way.

 Kindly  co-operate,  thanks.

we  can  consult  with  any  of  the  governing  body  of  the  area  and  see  if  they  will  have  any  issue  if  we  do  remove  this  fish  from  the  lake  there  and  instead  of  wasting  it,  we  can  always  do  some  thing  such  as  arrange  for  the  local  fish  shop  vendors  or  a  government  fish  shops  to  pick  them  up,  but  i  doubt  we  will  be  able  to  eradicate  the  whole  thing  in  a  single  go.

As  Shankar  says.....  please  stick  to  the  topic.  This  is  a  case  that  puts  us  hobbyists  in  cross  roads,  we  like  all  fish  to  get  rid  of  it  at  the  same  time  we  will  need  to  be  responsible  also.

It  is  not  Government  at  fault  always,  we  too  are  a  party  to  the  mess.....  we  hobbyist  are  also  responsible  for  the  introduction  Plecos  (primarily  in  Chennai  and  Calcutta)  and  numerous  cichlids  in  our  lakes  and  streams.  When  fish  becomes  too  big  dump  it  or  if  you  bored  and  no  takers  dump  it.

There  may  not  be  significant  problems  as  of  now,  can  never  say  in  future.  Fishes  like  plecos  are  resilient

 Any  thoughts  on  the  subject???

For  elimination  of  the  african  cats,  the  fisheries  departments  will  have  to  be  notified  wherever  the  cats  have  been  spotted  and  approach  media  to  help  in  the  fight.  The  lake  and  tanks  is  where  they  are  in  plenty  and  will  have  to  be  cleared  first  to  reduce  the  load.

The  consumers  will  have  to  be  made  aware  through  print  media  about  the  conditions  they  are  generally  grown  in  and  possible  health  risk.  I  know  of  farms  in  Shimoga,  where  they  are  fed  decomposing  Silkworm  papuae  and  slaughter  house  waste  and  stench  of  the  farm  is  for  kilometers.  They  are  also  growing  in  sewer  lines  of  Bangalore  (Kengeri),  we  see  them  growing  in  clean  water  but  we  do  not  know  where  the  fish  in  the  market  are  coming  from.

So  when  buying  stops  the  culture  of  this  fish  will  also  reduce,  so  will  the  risk  of  spread  into  new  area

I  do  not  know  how  right  or  wrong  i  am....only  my  views

Well  in  US,  snake  heads  are  the  biggest  problem,  so  to  eradicate  them  completely  US  government  have  poisoned  many  lakes  where  population  is  higher,  I  know  there  is  lot  of  risk  because  it  will  kill  lot  of  our  natives  also,  but  if  these  cat  fishes  are  so  dangerous  to  our  natural  habitants  then  we  would  have  to  come  up  with  some  thing..

never  seen  a  moderator  to  be  supporting  misconduct  of  other  members

If  you  see  my  post  as  supporting  misconduct,  It  is  your  wrong  way  of  thinking.
I  have  already  stated  that  the  said  user  have  chosen  wrong  path  <-------  You  might  have  missed  reading  this.
Does  that  mean  supporting  inappropriate  behaviour  on  the  forum??  Of  course,  NOT.
Well  its  a  different  thing  if  you  were  expecting  some  more  attacking  posts  on  the  user-duryodhan  by  members.

Admins/Moderators  are  very  much  aware  what  is  misconduct.  We  have  seen  various  such  instances  here  over  the  years.
These  are  some  classical  examples  of  misconduct  on  the  forum:-
