The  marine  tank  belongs  to  my  friends,  the  Patel  brothers.  Volume  is  500  litres.  Contains  live  rock,  lots  of  anemones  and  corals,  all  the  fish  that  you  can  see  and  more.  Set  up  September  2003.

I  do  not  keep  marines  yet.

As  a  hobby,  I  visit  marine  keepers  in  London  for  Marine  World,  a  magazine  that  I  write  for,  to  photograph  their  tanks  and  write  about  their  set-up.
Here  is  one  that  I  visited  last  year  -  Marine  reef  aquarium  2.5m  x  0.7m  x  0.8m  including    a  2m  x  0.7m  sump,  with  over  80    soft  and  hard  corals,  various  fish,  sea  stars,  crabs,  shrimps  etc.
Most  things  like  water  surges,  lights,  calcium  ingection  were  electronically  controled  on  a  timer.

 Wonderful,  is  it  not?

 Iggy

Those  are  bloody  awesome  tanks.  I'am  not  sure  if  we  can  have  a  similar  setup  in  India  because  of  all  those  bans.

Rajeev,  the  ban  is  on  corals  and  not  on  the  setup!  We  can  make  equally  hi-profile  tanks  here  in  India  and  much  cheaper  compared  to  the  prices  there!

I  agree  A'scapes  but  what  I  meant  is  to  have  complete  reef  tank  we  need  LR's  and  Coral  (Hard  and  Soft)  both  of  the  above  are  not  available  freely  in  Mumbai  at  least...the  same  look  and  feel  can  be  acheived  from  using  artifical  corals  but  then  it  does  not  even  come  clost  to  the  real  thing.

 Hello  Gokul,
Magazines  in  Europe  cost  a  lot.
Marine  World  magazine  cost  c.  300  rupees  per  issue.
Its  a  bimonthly  magazine  and  very  good.
I  just  checked  to  see  what  overseas  subscription  for  1  year  (6  copies)  that  included  postage  is  and  was  shocked  by  the  price  -  3200  rupees!
