 The  Hardware....

 Gangamoola  Biotope(The  Creek)

 The  Coves.

The  Cove  substrate  from  the  specific  location

 The  Deep.

The  Sand  and  Gravel  in  the  deep,  from  the  specific  location.

HeikoBleher  wrote  (View  Post):
And  just  a  few  points:
 -  a  biotope  should  have  the  assembalage  of  fishes  which  live  together,  and  the  decor  be  exactly  (or  very  similar)  for  each  one  of  the  species  living  in  that  particular  biotope.  That  is:  The  biotope  must  consist  of  the  ground  of  one  of  its  species,  the  rock(size)  of  the  other,  the  correct  root  for  the  thrid,  the  (floating)plant  for  the  fourth,  shade  portion  for  the  fifth,  etc.,  and
You  can  see  on  my  website  several  aquariums  I  decorated  according  to  the  biotope  with  the  correct  assembalage  of  fishes  and  the  exact  decor  material  for  each.  And  you  can  see  on  the  videos,  that  in  most  aquariums  the  fishes  started  to  spawn  within  the  same  day  of  decoration...  In  the  biotope  with  all  the  other  species  around  of  them....  because  they  felt  "at  home".
 Best  regards
 Heiko  Bleher
 www.aquapress-bleher.com

Here  I  agree  with  Mr  Heiko  Bleher.

 The  Implementation.....

 The  Software.....

 The  Alpha  male  P.Sahyadensis.

The  P.sahyadrensis  school  in  the  cove.  Their  natural  place  in  the  wild  creek.  They  move  around  the  tank  to  petrol  their  territory  and  end  up  returning  to  the  Cove.

The  Nemacheilus  anguilla.  These  are  the  most  obnoxious  in  the  tank.  They  always  love  to  swim  against  the  current  in  the  cascade.

The  Acanthocobitis  morreh  and  Schistura  denisonii  are  more  of  open  swimmer  in  the  cove  substrate,  retreating  into  the  cascade  stones  only  when  threatened.

The  Schistura  semiarmatus  is  the  least  afraid  of  all  the  loaches  and  roams  around  the  Cove  substrate  and  the  deep  sands.  Surprisingly  they  like  to  nibble  on  the  algae  on  the  glass.  The  N.anguilla  amd  M.petrubanarescui  also  does  it.  But  never  any  other  loaches.

Have  I  talked  about  the  Killies  fro  that  specific  spot?  Here  you  go!  how  can  I  set  up  a  Gangamoola  biotope  without  showing  the  beautiful  A.blockii  from  those  cool  waters?  And  you  guessed  it.  Their  niches  is  the  Hydrilla  entangle  above  the  cove  in  the  least  flow.

Feeding  time,and.....here  are  the  hungry  mouths.

Here  are  the  S.denisonii  and  S.semiarmatus  giving  me  the  guard  of  honour.

Regarding  spawning...  She  is  not  pot  bellied.  She  is  gravid.

And  here  is  a  thread  by  one  of  my  good  friend,  Deepak  who  spawned  and  successfully  raised  the  N.anguilla  in  his  Biotope.
 http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/community/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=22455

 Postscript......
I  do  have  the  Barilius,  Osteochilicthys  and  other  fishes  found  in  this  specific  spot,  in  this  specific  location,  in  this  specific  waterbody.....but  caught  elsewhere.  I  have  not  added  it  to  the  Biotope  because  they  were  caught  around  20Kms  from  this  spot  before  Kalasa.  My  conscience  would  not  allow  it!  As  Madan  rightly  said  it  is  you  who  actually  can  know  whether  you  are  truthful  or  not!  And  all  that  I  have  posted  above  are  true  to  the  best  of  my  Knowledge.

 Acknowledgement...
I  would  like  to  thank  my  erstwhile  navigator,  Guide  and  Guru  Mr  Trevor  menezes  without  whose  help  I  would  not  have  become  the  aquarist  I  am  today.  I  would  also  like  to  thank  my  friends  and  guides  Madan,  Beta,  Rahul,  Madhu,  Deepak  and  all  the  other  fellow  hobbyist  who  have  helped  me  in  making  this

 Biotope?
 my-o-tope?
 Habitat?
 Theme?
 or  simply  Bu**  S**t?

 Regards,
 Nayak.

 Hats  off  Nayak  Thumb Up

I  really  appreciate  the  research,  time,  energy  and  care  that  has  gone  into  your  'tope.

I  cannot  envisage  anything  more  acurately  simulating  the  ecosystem  in  the  wild.

I  guess  your  fish  really  feel  at  home............  What  is  your  opinion  about  good  setup=fishes  feeling  at  home=  spawning?

I  ask  this  because  I  wanna  see  if  it  could  be  used  as  a  guage  to  assess  a  setup......cause  at  the  end  we  all  want  to  have  the  satisfaction  of  being  true  to  ourselves  and  the  fish.

Once  again  I  say.........your  setup  looks  awesome.  Thumb Up

 Flawless  my  friend!     Thumb Up

Now  after  so  much  into  the  detailing  of  your(bio)tope,  I  would  be  very  happy  if  Mr.Heiko  would  be  kind  enough  atleast  to  explain  us  how  narayani  &  afasciatus  got  authentically  into  Bihar.   Not  likely  unless  and  until  they  were  possibly  collected  before  the  Satpura  hypothesis,  IMHO.

Get  your  point  in  good  sense  Marc.     Smile
Honestly,  that  was  not  to  pick  on,  just  that  every  claim  needs  a  concrete  validatation  to  back  it  up  to  be  accepted  and  the  very  point  that  we  all  learn  from  our  mistakes.

 Superb  work  Nayak   Thumb Up

Though  a  loach  lover,  but  have  to  say  that  killis  and  P  sahyadrensis  look  stunning.

Wrote  up  a  lengthy  post  for  this  thread.  But  when  I  saw  you  start  posting  your  work,  held  up  waiting  for  you  to  complete.  As  the  saying  goes  'pictures  speak  a  thousand  words'.

I  cannot  even  imagine  where  I  would  have  been  in  this  hobby  without  IAH.

 Clapping
 Awesome!
Anyone  can  do  collection  trips,  net  a  few  fish,  take  them  home.  But  to  replicate  the  natural  conditions,  to  such  accuracy,  superb!
