PostPosted: Thu Jan 13, 2011 1:57 pm Post subject: Finally completed my Dream Cheering(DIY partit'n Pg 6) Reply with quote

Finally  Last  week,  I  got  Thai  silk  baby  at  my  friend's  place.
There  was  one  Short  body  thai  silk  baby,  which  I  fell  in  love  with  it,  so  I  couldn't  stop  myself  to  buying  it,  So  I  ended  up  buying  2  thai  silk  babbies.
So  next  task  was  to  accomodate  him  in  either  of  the  tanks,  so  I  decided  to  put  them  together  in  my  topmost  tank  which  was  empty,  but  they  were  fighting  too  much  so  I  decided  to  keep  him  in  my  bottom  tank  which  was  occupied  by  Short  body  Fader  FH.
and  I  dont  wanted  to  make  outside  area  of  my  tank  rack  area  crowded  with  wires  and  oxygen  pipes,
and  wanted  to  make  separate  arrangenment  of  Oxygen  and  filter  so  decided  to  maky  partitin  in  new  way.

And  here  I  am  attachind  pic  with  details  of  my  DIY  partition.

 Items  needed  for  partition:

 1.  Partition  Calamps
 2.  Plastic  Net  (  Which  is  easily  available  at  Hardware  Store)
 3.  Four  pieces  of  2mm  glass  size  =  15"(H)  X  3"(W)  ¬†to  hold  net.
 4.  Clips
 5.  Scissor

After  getting  all  items  here  is  the  procedure.

 Step  1  :

Cut  the  plastic  net  with  help  of  scissor

 Step  2  :

Take  four  pieces  of  glass  and  partion  clamp  to  attach  it  together

 Step  3:

Take  two  pieces  of  glass  and  attach  partition  clamp  to  it  and  keep  plastic  net  betwwn  two  glass  peices  ,  repeat  for  other  side
Your  final  setup  will  look  like  this

And  This  partition  is  on  trial  basis,  so  I  attached  Clips(  whih  we  use  to  hold  clothes  while  drying)  to  hold  glass  pieces  together,
After  a  week  if  it  Works  fine,  I  will  fix  all  stuff  with  silicon

After  placing  in  tanks  currently  it  looks  like  this

Oxygenated  water  is  succesfully  passing  through  plastic  net  in  whole  tank

Here  are  the  guys  for  whom  this  is  made:

 Short  body  Fader  FH

 Short  Body  Thai  Silk  FH

Hope  you  all  will  like  it.
 Kindly  give  your  suggestions,
 Thanks  and  regards,

I  really  appreciate  the  effort  put  in  by  you   Thumb Up  .Nice  flowerhorns  too.
I  just  wanted  to  point  one  thing. The  gravel  in  your  flowerhorn  tank  really  distracts  me..Its  too  colourful  i  guess.Perhaps  you  could  change  it.And  you  have  done  a  wonderful  job  with  the  partition. But  i  guess  its  not  contemplating  well  with  the  substrate..
Best  of  luck  though   Very Happy

 Thanks  coldfear39
Thanks  Nvj1  for  sharing  such  informative  link....even  I  didn't  knew  that  fish  name....

Thank  you  Hrishi  for  your  compliments  and  suggestions,
I  know  that  gravel  is  not  too  good,  but  I  just  kept  it  temporary  to  keep  fish  waste  down  as  i  don't  like  when  it  float  in  water.
Last  week  I  have  completed  with  all  my  fish  collection,  now  I'll  start  decorating  each  tank  one  by  one,  I  already  spended  much  for  my  dream,  so  for  the  time  I  m  just  taking  little  break,  for  sure  I  m  gonaa  change  that  substrate  in  few  days,  Currently  I  am  thinking  about  DIY  3d  Background  for  my  Chichlid  tank...Will  update  you  guys  very  soon  about  differnt  Idea  for  3d  Background....

 Thanks  and  regards,
