hi. few days back i set up a planted tank with hair grass and glosso. the carpet has started spreading well. then i added few fishes in tank. and i fed them live tubiflex. but while feeding them few tubiflex fell down in laterite and in seconds they vanished under it. now its 2 weeks and i observed yesterdays theres a well carpet of tubiflex flying on sand. .so how to remove those worms from sand is there any proper method to remove them without uprooting the plants?? i had introduces loaches few days back but they were disturbing the sand making water cloudy so i removed them.
Please help.
PS- i do not want to remove all plants(if theres no other way i will do it too) so please help me.
Thanks and regards |

Let them be. They will not cause any harm.
And when they poke out of the sand they will be live feed for your fishes.
Never add live Tubifex to a planted tank. You might inadvertently add pests like leaches and be in serious trouble.

Nayak. |

| tubifex ariives in your tank some times naturally if u use river sand , it happened to me long time back, it was a bonus they used drill little passages in the substrate , this used to let the water all through the substrate , so roots get more nutrients and also good plant growth |

| Is it really good to have those in your sand, I read somewhere that having worms in soil will restrict anaerobic bacterias to grow. Some more info on this would be really helpful..... |
