Be  very  careful  for  your  belongings  in  that  market  and  camera  is  a  strict  no  no.
Will  need  atleast  one  full  day  to  just  have  round  about  in  the  market.

I  haven't  visted  thailand  even  once.
This  was  from  my  friends  experience.
He  was  having  a  look  at  a  Pygmy  Marmoset  and  in  the  crowd  he  got  a  dash  and  realised  his  wallet  gone,  never  to  trace  back.

IMO  you  should  drop  plan  to  bring  livestock  from  Thailand.  Their  laws  are  pretty  strict  regarding  illegal  movement  of  livestock  out  of  their  country  without  authentic  procedure.  Heard  about  many  confiscation  incidences  at  Bangkok  airport  without  Livestock  Health  papers  from  local  'Animal  Quarantine  Station'.

It  is  almost  impossible  to  get  live  fish  back  from  Thailand.  They  are  very  strict.  It  also  takes  around  a  month  or  so  to  get  the  livestock  certificate  from  the  authorities.  You  can  get  plants.  Maybe  carry  half  in  your  luggage  and  post  hte  other  half  to  yourself  from  there  (just  in  case)
