Hey sreeram, why running around the bush when you dont want to be helpful. Say it out, no one will bother to ask you again...
I remember you saying 4 different weird combinations whenever I asked you, I remember that well. The last combo you told when we visited you was algae, worm castings, cow dung, soil all baked together evenly in an earth oven. There are atleast four people to confirm on that, and no point about misunderstandings.
|
+1 what Hamza has said. You might be testing different combination and waiting for a confirmed result. But yes.... there is no point changing the matter what we have discussed that day. Now I think, I should remove the details of the tank in the first page to help people not to get confused more. Cause I wrote what I have heard but after 4 pages of discussion, 90% of the fact became lame and contradicting. |

I didnt get Hamza's post.
Why wouldn't Sreeram want to be helpful? If he is still testing his different mixe's, there is no harm in spilling out the ingriedients of his half a dozen set ups, is it?
I have seen a lot of people here, including me asking him about his ingriendient, but still there is no reply from him on this query. |

Fair enough for me!
Guys,
Scepticism is the name of the game. There are posts and posts about not to use cow dung in aquariums. And yet you bought it(Supposing Sreeram did mention it, which he says he did not).
Search for a post by Trevor regarding a real life experience by an aquarist, who used cow dung in his tank and almost got thrown out of his apartment complex. Or the satirical post by Madan Sir regarding Dino pee and Dino dung in the chit chat sub-forum.

Dear all,
I was following the posts from beginning, and waiting to see the development of the scape, I believe any hobby is to relax our minds and aquarium hobby particularly, by interacting through this forum we should have maximum friendships, this is can only be done by allowing every one to have their own space, no one can extract knowledge from any one, when it is full it will flow out like when we pore water to a pot. So let Sreeram to do his research and once he is satisfied himself he will tell us about the story. Why to be in a hurry, after all we are not in business to grab the secret and gain some thing and every one has one or the other idea to try and be happy.

Right Nayak. From the first day in this hobby, I heard about the aftermaths of cow dung. And after reading the post of the seniors I never dared to use it. Till date I know only one guy who is using dried Cow Dung but in his outdoor pond successfully. After seeing the scape and after hearing about the usage of the cow dung in it, I got surprised. I was thinking how can one use the same thing that also under direct sunlight, where experienced hobbyists failed to achieve anything good long before.
I posted this scape only after learning about the usage of cow dung in it and was hopping for a serious discussion about it(which never happened). But shockingly I found, facts are changing as the thread progressed everyday what I was not expecting at all. |
