While  the  topic  is  on  anemones,Is  it  ok  to  have  more  than  one  anemone  in  a  tank(of  5ft  x  2ft  x  2ft)?I've  read  stuff  about  Chemical  warfare  amongst  invertebrates  in  coral  reef  tanks...does  it  apply  here  too?

 Yes,  it  applies  here  there  are  a  lot  of  zooanthids  which  don't  like  the  company  of  most  anemones  and  there  are  a  lot  of  incompatible  anemones  who  don't  prefer    to  be  in  the  vicinity  of  one-another.

 I  have  to  disagree  there...  it  is  possible  to  house  multiple  anemones  and  zooanthids  in  a  tank  that  size.  Just  a  matter  of  picking  the  right  spots  to  place  them.  They  cannot  wage  long  range  warfare...  they  have  to  be  in  close  contact  to  do  any  damage.

 Sorry  Rahul  -  I  mean  that  a  lot  of  zooanthids  don't  like  the  company  (means  nearby  neighbours)  -  I  agree  that  Doc.  has  a  large  tank  size  and  there  should  not  be  a  problem  accomodating  most  inverts  'in  the  right  place'  But,  I've  seen  these  anemones  competing  with  each  other  for  light  in  low-lit  tanks  and  will  naturally  shift  themselves  to  the  bright  spots  -  that  is  where  the  problem  starts!

 Hope(and  possibly  too)that  you  are  right,rahul.Four  anemones  that  I  have,seem  to  have  found  the  farthest  points  away  from  each  other.
 Why  I  ask  is,I've  seen  plenty  of  tanks  that  seem  to  be  FILLED  with  all  kinds  of  invertebrates.Dont  they  have  chemical  warfare?
 Will  a  filter  with  carbon  in  it  help  to  keep  these  chemicals  within  tolerable  limits?

 @mozart,
 please  anchor  the  FD  to  the  rocks  -  just  planting  them  in  the  sand  bed  will  be  difficult  -  place  them  in  a  rock  crevice  and  they  will  do  the  needful  to  stick  to  the  rock!

 hi  dr  ,

 Whats  the  green  thing  on  the  rock  .  Has  it  grown  due  to  sunlight  or  bad  lighting  .  Is  it  good  to  have  it  in  the  tank.
