 Hey  Guys!
I've  been  keeping  my  distance  from  the  forum  for  a  long  time  now  since  I  had  no  new  developments  to  write  about.
I  parted  from  my  beautiful  native  setup  3  months  back  since  my  parents  wanted  a  single  large  cichlid.  They  insisted  on  a  flowerhorn,  but  my  mind  was  set  on  a  Midas.  .
Meanwhile  I  bought  a  pair  of  1.5"  Tiger  Oscars  to  keep  my  lone  10"  Pleco,  company  in  my  new  50  Galloner  and  thus  buying  more  time  for  my  Midas  Quest.
But  my  long  nationwide  search  from  Mumbai  to  Delhi  to  Bengaluru  to  Chennai  earned  me  no  results
Those  handful  of  fishkeepers  who  claimed  to  sell  a  Midas  were  actually  selling  Red  Devils  or  crossbreeds.
But  it  was  today  that  I  layed  my  eyes  upon  this  2"  fader  Jing  Kang  /  Rainbow  Flowerhorn  (  I  am  not  sure  of  his  lineage  )  in  a  nearby  LFS  and  I  gave  up  on  the  Midas  for  now.  His  vibrant  fluorescent  colouration  compelled  me  to  buy  him.  And  so,  I  am  back  to  Flowerhorn  Keeping.
Since  he  was  in  a  set  Malawi  Cichlid  Community  tank  and  had  no  external  sign  of  disease  (  except  badly  torn  finnage  ),  I  quarantined  him  for  only  10  hours  before  releasing  him  with  the  slightly  larger  and  aggressive  oscars  who  started  bullying  him  immediately.
Sorry  for  the  bad  picture  Quality.  Will  upload  better  pictures  and  videos  later.
Meet  Adolf  (  Named  after  his  moustache  )

There  could  not  have  been  a  more  perfect  name  than  this  -  Adolf   Clapping

Wish  you  all  the  best  raising  him.  Btw  the  attacks  by  oscars  are  too  agressive  as  seen  in  the  video  ..  can't  there  be  some  hiding  spots  for  him  ?

 Regards,
 Suman

 Thanks  for  the  replies.

Growing  a  young  flowerhorn,  especially  a  fader,  is  always  like  having  a  new  fish  every  now  and  then.  There  are  so  many  variations  that  occur  in  the  colouration  and  finnage  that  the  final  adult  fish  is  so  different  from  the  juvenile.  And  there  are  always  surprises  involved.

About  the  kok,  the  question  is  "  Who  needs  a  kok  with  such  a  vibrant  colouration  ?  ".  I  most  certainly  donot,  although  it  will  be  a  bonus.  It  won't  matter  to  me  even  if  "He"  turns  out  to  be  a  "She",  except  the  rechristening  to  either  "Eva"  or  "Adolfa".
