Only  3  Eels.  Now  the  biggest  of  them  has  grown  well  and  successfully  swallowed  the  other  two.  Sometimes  shows  up  brilliant  red,  sometimes  brown.

Oh!!  Atleast  one  survived..  would  like  to  see  how  it  grows  up  :-)  It  had  brilliant  coloration  even  when  stressed.

I  see  another  signature  changing  campaign  has  started.  I  should  keep  me  mouth  shut  on  trips.   Chuckle

Let  me  kick  start  the  id'ying.

 Hyporhamphus  limbatus

 Reason  for  id:

 1)  Slender  lower  jaw
 2)  Fins  hyaline

 Juvenile  of  the  family  Mugilidae

 Reason  for  id:

 1)  Shape  of  the  head
 2)  Position  of  the  second  dorsal  fin

 Aplocheilus  parvus

 Reason:

 1)  What  else  can  it  be???  Maybe  A.  blockii

 Puntius  sophore

 Reason  for  id

 1)  Presence  of  both  dorsal  fin  spot  and  caudal  peduncle  spot.
 2)  Dorsal  fin  spot  not  in  the  angle  (vs  in  angle  for  P.chola)

 Mystus  gulio

 Reason  for  id:

 1)  No  visible  marking  on  the  body
 2)  I  can  see  nasal  barbels
 3)  Small  adipose  fin  base

 Hyporhamphus  xanthopterus

 Reason  for  id:

 1)  Thicker  lower  jaw
 2)  Yellow  fins

Fish  on  top:  Could  be  Arius  sp.

Reason  :  I  cant  see  nasal  barbels

 Fish  below:  Mystus  vittatus

Reason:  Clear  lateral  stripes  on  the  body  and  presence  of  nasal  barbels

Thanks  for  the  ID'S  Marcus.  I  think  both  the  fish  in  the  last  pic  are  Mystus.  I  counted  the  barbels  on  most  of  the  fish  in  that  tank  and  they  all  seem  to  have  4  pairs.

Growing  quite  well  on  live  food.

The  alleged  Arius  does  not  look  like  an  Arius  after  all.  Does  have  4  pairs  of  barbels.

 Any  opinions???
