 Thanks  Samir  and  Jaival.

I  do  have  2217  but  i  am  looking  for  something  much  better  than  2217  for  a  very  heavy  bio  load,  which  can  help  me  for  a  good  mechanical  filter  as  well.

hi..  what  fish  are  you  holding  in  your  tank..  depends  on  the  bio  load  the  fish  generate  really..  say  your  tank  is  4x2x2..  it  holds  about  400  liters  or  a  lil  more  of  water..  for  a  small  tank..  you  could  easily  add  a  couple  more  canisters..  doesnt  have  to  be  eheim  or  prob  hook  up  another  2217..

You  can  always  use  another  Eheim  2217  along  with  good  Biological  filtration  media  like  Eheim  Substrat  Pro  or  ADA  Bio  Rio  in  both  filters.

Go  for  two  2217  gives  you  better  flexibility  and  redundancy  in  a  big  tank.  In  my  opinion  its  way  better  to  have  two  of  them  instead  of  one  monster  filter.

 Thanks,

 Ryel

if  you  can  house  a  sump..   that's  the  way  to  go..

canisters  give  you  less  volume  and  are  also  costlier  ..!!
for  the  same  amount  of  money  you  spend  on  a  good  canister  ,  you  can  make  a  sump  that  can  provide  atleast  double  the  filtration  volume...

 cheers

 Hi  Experts,

 Thanks  for  the  information.

My  setup  is  the  same  4  footer  fully  planted  tank  with  2217,  media  consisting  of  2liter  biorio.  But  these  days  I  am  facing  a  peculiar  problem.  I  need  change  at  least  50%  water  alternate  days  if  not  the  water  becomes  cloudy.  And  there  is  a  lot  of  decaying  broken  leaf  partials  floating  around,  which  is  tough  to  be  removed.
I  was  thing  if  I  can  add  any  one  of  these  filter  as  an  addition  can  solve  my  problem.

 1. A  power  full  eheim  filter  which  can  take  care  of  a  heavy  bio  load  (in  terms  of  huge  blyxa  and  HC  Cuba  decay  and  other  leaf  and  food  decay)by  taking  care  as  a  mechanical  filter  and  a  biological  filter  as  well

 2. Or  a  Marineland  Magnum  350

 3. Or  a  Diatom  filter

 4. As  suggested  sump.

 Please  suggest.
 TK
