 Nisha,
as  long  as  the  male  is  not  making  enough  bubbles  to  impress  her  she  will  not  be  interested. Also  she  should  be  loaded  with  eggs.  Usually  it  takes  two  days  to  get  the  things  started.  best  of  luck.  Thumb Up

The  male  has  made  3  separate  bubblenests,  even  I'm  impressed  hehe!
She  is  much  more  interested  than  yesterday,  she's  following  him  and  flirting  but  she's  not  getting  eggy.  Sad  I  hope  she  does  soon..

Hehe  names  are  not  a  problem  with  bettas  but  if  you  asked  me  to  name  tetras  or  danios,  I'd  shoot  myself!   ROFL

Lol!  Lucky  you!  I  had  to  pull  her  out,  she  was  showing  no  interest  but  since  the  male  already  had  a  bubblenest  and  everything  ready  I  put  another  female  and  she  seems  VERY  interested!  Btw  when  the  male  chases  the  female,  how  much  chasing  and  biting  is  too  much?  And  how  much  is  ok?  I  understand  that  some  will  happen  right?

Thats  there  romance.   Chuckle  let  them  be.
you  can  keep  the  female  in  a  long  jar  inside  the  breeding  tank  so  that  male  cannot  reach  her  and  wait  for  the  female  get  eggy.  Or   Keep  some  hiding  places  in  the  tank  like  plants  or  a  filter  she  will  be  fine.  thats  how  they  do  things.

 funny!

how  interesting  when  we  name  our  pets  and  note  their  individual  personalities,  it  just  makes  it  all  the  more  fun  to  keep  them.  great  going  bettalover.  like  your  double  tail  best.  do  u  know  double  tails  were  first  bred  in  India?  our  contribution  to  the  betta  keeping  hobby.   i  read  that  online,  on  an  old  american  veteran's  website.

in  case  you  might  not  know,  betta's  love  a  treat  of  grindal  worms  weekly.  the  worms  are  the  easiest  live  food  to  keep.  they  also  like  microfex  worms.  both  worms  are  easy  to  feed  with  rolled  oat  meal.

 hope  u  breed  your  DT!

Really?  i  did  not  know  that..  I  thought  the  double  tail  was  just  a  mutation  that  people  took  a  liking  to  and  decided  to  breed  like  marbles..  Interesting.   Confused

Sadly  my  double  tail  came  from  a  VT  spawn,  so  most  of  the  babies  would  be  VT.  I  personally  love  VTs,  they're  the  grandfathers  of  our  modern  HMs  etc.  But  there  are  already  so  many  rotting  on  shelfs  in  petstores,  I  wouldn't  want  to  add  to  them.  Sad  And  anyway,  he's  a  tiny  guy,  finding  a  tinier  girl  would  be  difficult,  not  to  mention  his  lobes  are  uneven..  I'm  too  critical  of  my  babies  lol!  Just  like  any  Indian  mother!   ROFL

I've  never  heard  of  microfex,  what  is  it?  Mine  eat  bloodworms,  a  home  made  shrimp  recipe  and  now  I'm  going  to  try  some  bbs  soon.  (maybe  too  small  for  them  though...)
Thanks  for  the  tips  Romi.  And  I  agree,  naming  and  getting  to  know  your  betta's  personality  is  definitely  fun!  That's  why  I  don't  like  schooling  fish,  unless  they  want  food,  they  don't  communicate  lol!

 @bettalover

the  microfex  have  become  available  in  recent  years.  they  are  not  avaialble  on  aquabid,  at  princely  sums.   Chuckle  they  are  just  a  kind  of  small  tubifex.  as  you  might  know,  tubifex  worms  are  higly  tolerant  of  bad  water.  that  is  why  they  have  are  found  so  commonly  and  were  a  staple  live  food  till  the  big  companies  started  to  churn  out  A  grade  dried  food.

i  found  them  in  an  tub  outside  that  some  birds  used  as  a  watering  place   Chuckle  i  use  it  for  mosquito  larvae,  and  add  water  in  my  tank  to  keep  it  rich  in  organics.  i  like  microfex  better  than  grindals  (the  regular  DIY  live  food  sold  all  over  the  world  by  mail)  because  they  can  take  the  summer  heat  in  delh  better.

you  can  google  them.  they  are  called  by  various  names,  dero  worms,  micro  tubifex,  microfex.

why  dont  u  start  with  grindals  .lotsa  guys  in  mumbai  have  them....

yep,  u  are  too  critical,  at  least  of  the  DT.  try  to  be  less  mommy  more  feel-good  friend  :P

i  dont  like  BBS.  i  dont  like  the  idea  of  all  that  salt  water  discarded.  it  ruins  soil,  i  heard.  too  much  effort  anyway.  i  have  BBS  eggs  lying  since  time  immemorial   Chuckle

 do  breed,  do.
