beta  wrote  (View  Post):

With  3.5  inch  display,  VGA  video  recording  and  3  megapixel  camera,  3GS  is  an  outdated  phone  so  20K  is  way  overpriced.   Do  you  realize  they  are  dumping  the  old  unsold  phones  on  us?
 Incredible  S  costs  around  24K.
Touch  sensitivity  is  good  in  the  iphone  but  a  big  price  to  pay  for  an  otherwise  not  so  impressive  device.
I  own  an  Ipod  as  well  so  don't  get  me  started  on  Itunes   Thumb Down

IMO  20K  for  an  iOS  and  touch  experience  is  not  overpriced.  I  agree  that  they  are  dumping  old  phones  on  us  but  given  the  fact  that  iPhone  5  will  easily  take  over  a  year  n  half  to  hit  indian  shore,  I  would  advise  3GS.  But  yes,  it  depends  on  how  one  uses  it!  I  just  love  it.  Specially  the  touch  sensitivity.

I  agree  about  the  camera  part.  I  too  intend  to  upgrade  to  iPhone  4/5  when  I  have  a  gf  to  click  photos  of   Chuckle

The  reason  I  am  not  fond  of  galaxy  is  because  I  dont  find  the  interface  to  be  smooth  and  as  fluid  as  an  iphone's.

You  dont  like  iTunes?  I  find  it  to  be  a  great  tool  for  organizing  music  and  purchasing  and  mantaining  apps.

 Beta,
thanks  for  the  info.  looks  like  incredible  would  also  be  a  good  choice.  didn't  want  to  get  it  as  it  had  2.2  but  now  with  the  update  looks  a  promising  deal.

 Zakk,
not  really.  not  many  people  recommend  the  HTC.  everyone  either  recommends  iphone  or  samsung.  samsung  because  of  service  center  and  iphone  because  of  the  warranty.  but  never  was  a  fan  of  iphone.  don't  want  a  phone  to  be  synced  through  itunes..period.  and  yes  i  am  partial  towards  HTC.  but  the  price  on  higher  end  phones  is  a  restriction  somewhat.

 Hi

I  always  prefer  nokia  or  samsung  because  of  its  great  service  network
The  ability  of  iphone  is  always  exaggerated  and  its  not  really  worth  30k
Whats  grreat  about  iphone  warrenty?  dont  you  get  a  1  year  warrenty  like  lots  of  other  phone(if  i  am  not  wrong)

I  dont  know  why  dont  you  consider  galaxy  S2....you  dont  like  samsung  or  something?

 Samir,
have  terrible  experience  with  Nokia  service.  Samsung  is  the  same.  my  Nokia  phones  don't  last  for  more  that  1.5  years.

 Zakk,
not  looking  for  a  business  phone.  but  more  of  all  round  capability.

Consider  a  Blackberry  if  thats  something  you  might  be  interested  in.  I  have  a  lotta  phones  at  home  but  my  BB  serves  me  the  best  with  the  least  hassle  and  is  extremely  user  friendly.  a  Bold  2  would  cost  you  about  22K  and  a  Bold  3  would  cost  you  about  36k.

this  is  the  only  phone  so  far  that  i  have  seen  that  refuses  to  get  infected  with  a  virus.  even  if  the  software  develops  bug,  you  can  reload  the  software  sitting  at  home  within  30  mins  using  the  BB  Desktop  S/ware.

I  have  played  around  with  the  I  Phone  a  bit  ,  Apart  from  the  Extremely  good  touch  interface  i  did  not  find  anything  great  about  it.  I  ended  up  buying  a  HTC  Desire  S,  Love  the  phone,  It  has  a  metal  exterior  than  plastic  and  though  the  phone  is  sleek  it  does  weigh  a  bit  and  i  prefer  that  actually.  UI  wise  i  prefer  the  HTC  over  I  Phone  or  Samsung

I  was  deciding  between  the  HTC  Desire  S  and  HTC  Incredible  S,  Finalized  on  Desire  S  since  its  a  bit  sleeker,  had  Gingerbread  OS  and  front  camera.

Go  for  Samsung  Galaxy  S2.  It  beats  HTC  Sensation/iphone4  in  terms  of  both  power  and  performance.

The  winning  factor  for  iphone  is  usually  the  UI  and  most  of  the  stock  UI  that  runs  on  Android  phones  dont  match  up  to  iphone  UI.  But  you  can  always  change  them  using  a  different  launcher  app  or  be  more  adventurous  and  go  for  Cyanogen/MIUI.

But  when  it  comes  to  power  (making  the  best  of  battery)  and  performance  nothing  in  the  current  market  comes  anywhere  close  to  Samsung  galaxy  S2.  I  can  get  into  technical  details  but  would  avoid  them  here.  Only  down  for  me  on  S2  is  the  large  display  size...  but  it  would  be  a  positive  for  most  of  the  folks..  :-)

I  work  for  the  company  whose  chipset  gets  used  in  all  the  above  phones  either  wholly  (HTC)  or  partially  (SS/iphone)  and  our  metrics  show  that  SS  rocks.

 Good  luck  and  happy  buying!!

 Zakk,
BB  is  something  that  the  home  minister  does  not  approve  of.  too  common  she  says.  otherwise  i  have  a  free  hand  in  deciding  which  one  to  buy.

 Seetharam,
how's  the  Desire  S  battery  wise?  is  it  possible  to  upload  a  cooked  ROM  running  HTC  sense  3.0  on  it?  i  was  leaning  towards  the  desire  s  before  the  sensation  came  out.  not  m  not  sure  between  the  two.  even  though  i  have  stated  HTC  sensation  in  the  topic  but  Desire  S  also  is  in  the  picture.

 srkg,
i  used  the  SII  for  a  bit.  found  it  to  be  a  bit  plasticky  and  too  thin  for  my  liking.  plus  i  never  liked  the  UI  in  samsung.

I  want  an  android  phone  but  the  newer  ones  with  better  hardware  dont  have  physical  QWERTY  keyboards.  I  really  need  a  phone  with  a  physical  qwerty.  If  I  had  to  stick  with  a  touchscreen  only  phone  then  I  would  stick  with  the  iphone  as  its  touchscreen  and  UI  is  a  decent  bit  better  than  that  of  any  android  devices  I  have  fiddled  with  so  far.
I  want  an  Android  phone  with  the  Tegra  2  and  a  physical  qwerty  can  anyone  make  a  recommendation  ?
