 Hi  all

Meet  Mr.  Neelakandan,  My  first  Betta   Very Happy

i  think  he  is  a  crowntail  betta,  am  i  rignt?

I  Bought  him  yesterday,  right  now  He  live  in  a  tank  i   borrowed  from  my  friend  it  is  a  12x8x8(all  inches)  tank  with  two  fake  plants.  he  is  active,  eats  only  freeze  dried  blood  worms.

i  am  little  worried  about  his  fins

if  u  c  close  u  can  see  tip  of  his  fins  are  white  not  all  but  few.
is  he  alright  i  asked  the  LFS  guy  he  said  that  is  like  his  birth  mark
 i  hope  he  is  correct.
if  not  tell  me  what  i  had  to  do.

And  I  want  to  Buy  him  a  new  tank  I  am  thinking  a  40  liter,
and  don't  like  him  being  alone.  I  would  like  to  add  some  small  fishes(8  or10),  shrimp(2),  and  snail(1).
i  think  40  liter  enough  for  him  to  live  with  others.
plz  tell  me  what  other  fishes  can  be  added  with  him.

Awesome  fish  Naresh.   Thumb Up   Certainly  deserves  the  name.
Take  good  care  of  him  and  keep  us  updated.

Tip:  Snap  his  picture  after  placing  a  mirror  in  front  of  him.  His  beauty  will  be  at  full  display  when  he  flares  up.

Naresh..  Neelu  looks  good  ,  no  probs  with  his  fins...  And  i  dont  think  any  other  fishes  can  be  kept  with  this  one  as  either  Neelu  will  get  bullied  or  the  others  might  get  Bullied,  let  it  be  alone,  because  lot  of  the  Male  Bettas  aroudn  the  world  are  alone  in  their  own  tank  ,   not  only  yours   Chuckle  So  no  probs  leave  it  alone,  he  will  like  to  be  solo  king  ..

@  scapegoat_44   :I  hope  he  has  named  him  as  Neelakandan,  because  Neel  /  Neela  /  Neelam  means  BLUE  in  native  language,  so  he  would  have  named  him  so..

What  fish  do  you  have  in  mind?  8-10  fishes  seems  a  bit  high  in  number,  for  fishes  that  the  betta  would  not  consider  as  a  snack.

 Shocked  so  no  shrimp

I  was  thinking  about  6-8  tetras,  couple  of  blue  or  black  shrimp  and  a  medium  sized  apple  snail.

I  have  heard  that  some  tetras  can  live  with  Bettas,  peacefully  and  without  nipping  fin.

 hope  neon  would  be  fine.

instead  of  shrimp  I  think  I  can  have  some  bottom  dwelling  fish.  As  they  will  be  at  the  bottom  mostly.

and  snail  will  not  be  a  problem.

suggest  me  some  bottom  dwellers  that  will  eat  wast  food  and  algae,  some  premium  food  for  betta  that  can  enhance  his  health  and  color.
