Recently  my  chokes  (ballast)  got  burned  out.   And  I  need  replacement.   But  I'm  finding  it  hard  to  get  one.   The  electrical  shops  in  BVK  Iyengar  road  say  that  the  choke  used  in  the  light  fitment  is  a  custom  made  one  (compact  in  size  etc).   Whereas  the  std.  chokes  are  much  bigger  and  don't  fit  in  the  frame.

Any  idea  where  I  can  get  them?

[My  light  dome  is  the  typical  one  like  this:  http://www.google.co.in/imgres?q=aquarium+lighting&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1366&bih=677&tbm=isch&tbnid=9CX33wzjeUh3UM:&imgrefurl=http://amazonaquarium.co.in/index.php/cPath/102&docid=etT8vwIifZb43M&imgurl=http://amazonaquarium.co.in/images/T5.jpg&w=384&h=271&ei=06HcTtbVBIXJrQeA7ZilCA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=324&vpy=391&dur=3424&hovh=189&hovw=267&tx=192&ty=111&sig=102428760181770692697&page=1&tbnh=131&tbnw=186&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:13,s:0]

You  can  always  rewire  and  place  the  ballast  at  some  place  else.

I  have  PLLs  in  my  tank  (with  regular  box  including  a  place  for  ballast),  but  have  fixed  the  ballasts  on  the  hood  in  the  back.
