 Hi  Guys,

Finally,  after  being  in  South  Korea  for  almost  2  months,  I  could  take  some  time  off  and  visit  the  COEX  aquarium  here.
Its  a  nice  place,  though  a  bit  costly.

I'm  putting  up  some  snaps  here  along  with  some  info  that  I  know.
 Enjoy!!!

Entrance  to  COEX  mall  that  houses  the  aquarium

Entrance  to  the  aquarium.  Notice  the  pillars  filled  with  water.  They  contain  salt  water  fish.  I  wonder  how  they  are  maintained.  And  how  long  the  fish  can  stay  alive  in  such  a  setup.

A  puffer  in  a  fancy  little  tank

 More  fancy  tanks.

 Can  someone  ID  this  fish???

Native  fish  of  Korea.  I've  taken  the  snaps  of  only  a  few  of  them.  (Still  new  to  the  hobby  and  not  much  into  natives   Very Happy  )

 Japanese  Eel

 Chinese  Bass

 Koi  Pond

 A  nice  planted  tank

Most  of  the  aquariums  were  made  of  Acrylic.  This  picture  shows  the  thickness  of  acrylic  in  the  big  enclosures

Here  we  start  with  some  silly  fancy  stuff.
 Look  at  this  poor  guy!!!

This  is  more  of  a  kids  area..

Now  entering  into  the  amazonian  section.
This  was  the  first  time  I  got  to  see  these  monsters  in  their  monster  size.

How  often  do  you  come  accross  a  3  to  4  feet  pagnasius  cat  fish??

Or  these  5  feet  or  more  arapaima

Huge  bunch  of  cardinal  tetras..  Not  a  clear  pic  because  of  the  dim  lighting  and  the  reflection

 Lung  fish

 Bichir

 A  beautiful  Arowana

Red  belly  piranhas.  Again,  I  could  not  get  good  pics  because  they  were  moving  very  fast.
Though  I  dint  like  the  cylindrical  setup  in  which  they  are  kept.....

 Bunch  of  fire  eels

 Electric  eel

 Some  more  monsters.
A  tank  full  of  pacus,  Red  tail  cats  and  others

A  tank  full  of  huge  giant  gourami's  and  others....

Couple  of  arowanas..  they  seem  to  have  drop  eye...

 Are  these  buttikoferi  ??

They  were  in  the  same  tank  with  this  huge  croc  !!

 Still  to  come...
Mangrove,  marine  and  deep  sea  sections......

Thanks  for  all  the  replies  guys  !!!

Thats  the  best  I  could  do  with  my  mobile  camera.  Maybe  a  good  SLR  would  have  really  worked  well.
Thanks  for  IDing  the  cow  fish.  I  remember  seeing  the  nameplate  on  the  tank.  But  had  forgotten   Chuckle

And  regarding  the  croc....  it  was  not  for  sale!!!   Shocked   This  was  a  public  aquarium  sort  of  thing.  :)

So...  here  are  some  more  pics.

 This  is  the  mangrove  section.
Some  sea  angels  and  other  fish.

 Bullhead  sharks

I  dont  remember  the  ID  of  these..

 A  ray  getting  itself  cleaned

I  think  now  we  are  in  the  saltwater  section..

 Here's  an  eagle  ray

 A  baby  shark

Typical  saltwater  setups.  (With  false  corals  !!   Chuckle  )

 A  lion

Again...  I  forgot  the  id  of  this  one

 Sea  horses

 Silver  thread  fins

 Some  more  typical  saltwater  fish

This  is  a  huge  tank  with  lots  of  soft  corals

Here  we  start  with  the  deep  sea  monsters

A  real  shark!!!  Huge  one..  And  just  on  the  other  side  of  the  glass!!
 This  was  really  amazing..

Sardines..  There  was  also  a  beautiful  hammer  head  shark  in  this  tank.  But  i  could  not  manage  to  take  its  pic

A  view  of  the  under  sea  tunnel  (Not  literally  under  sea.  Jut  made  to  feel  like  it  Smile  )

 A  huge  ray..

 More  sharks

 A  sea  turtle

Thats  all  the  photos  I  have.
Missed  out  on  the  last  part  which  contained  deep  sea  creatures  like  giant  crabs,  sea  cucumbers,  urchins,  octopus,  and  jelly  fish.
By  the  time  I  reached  this  section,  my  mobile  battery  was  completely  drained....   Sad

Anyways..  it  was  a  great  experience.  Worth  every  penny..  and  every  minute  spent  there.
