plants  with  oscars  is  not  a  good  idea  at  all....as  they  love  to  rearrange  their  territory....so  they'll  rip  it  off.
but  if  want  to  keep  plants  then  use  plants  that  grow  on  wood  and  rocks...

your  Oscars  color  look  too  pale......they  like  low  light,  maybe  thats  the  reason  they  looking  pale.....
and  also  it  is  the  reason  to  avoid  plant  in  oscar  tank...if  you  want  to  go  with  plants  then  go  with  plants  that  grow  in  low  light  conditions.

also  tank  is  giving  empty  kinda  feeling  in  it.....maybe  high  height  is  the  reason.....  Sad
you  can  use  a  arowana  to  fill  up  your  upper  portion  of  the  tank.....but  it's  my  opinion...you  can  do  whatever  you  want....  Smile

your  tank  look  good  as  it's  molded....but  with  few  modification  you  can  make  it  even  better...  Thumb Up

and  that  cocker  is  too  good...ma  most  fev  dog...  Dog
 boy  or  girl?  Eyebrow

I  do  have  some  rocks  in  there,  do  you  think  i  should  add  more.

I  think  his  oscars  looks  too  pale.  I  have  an  oscar  now  too,  its  just  around  4  inches, almost  the  same  size,  its  SO  BLACK  that  i  can  see  where  his  eyes  are!  and  little  marking  on  his  body,  orangish.

@rohit  the  owner  of  the  thread.(so  many  rohits  Razz  )

I  dunno  why  your  oscars  are  so  pale.  for  how  long  do  u  keep  your  lights  on?reduce  if  its  like  8  hours  or  so  for  the  plants.
u  cant  really  tell  about  your  oscars,  they  are  really  moody,  and  drama  queens.
My  oscar  was  pale  like  for  2  weeks,  got  me  worried,  it  used  to  go  the  corner  ,turn  all  pale  and  sleep  as  if  its  almost  dead.

DO  u  have  a  heater  in  your  tank?  what  is  the  temp  in  your  city?  if  u  have  heater  what  is  temp  u  have  set  it?if  u  do  not  have  a  heater,  then  maybe,  if  it  gets  cold  ive  observed  they  turn  pale  and  slow  and  boring.

Food  and  water  changes  is  fine.

 @  nick  -  my  oscars  are  2.5  -  3  inch  in  size.

:)  I  know  of  2  Rohit  here  -  Rohit  Kapoor(me)  and  Rohit  Sharma,  maybe  a  famous  name  in  the  North.

My  lights  are  on  for  6  -  7  hours  daily.  These  guys  are  very  active,  playfull  and  always  hungry  :)

 Hyd  temp  is  29  C,  i  don't  have  a  heater  ,  will  add  one.

Since  i  got  them  i  have  never  seen  them  lazy  or  slow  only  during  sleeping  time.

 Regards,
 Rohit
