Hi,
I am in a certain situation where I might have to keep hc cuba mat afloat in a high-tech tank or maybe have the carpet sink to the bottom.
Either way, it won be planted.
Can it survive/thrive like this?I am looking at a month..
Few people claim to have kept HC like this without any problems.....so I thought I'll just ask fellow hobbyists!

Hi, it can be done but in my experience after a while the HC changes form. It turns into something similar to duckweed, 2 leaves and a tiny single 4-5mm root. Dont know if it can be turned back to its immersed or submerged form

agree with Mortis. as the plants will be floating the leaves structure might change. but as long as it is under water it is ok. it will acclimatize to the water and get good lights as well, so if you plant it it will grow pretty decently given the lights are good at the surface too.
