 Hello  guys,

It  is  not  impossible  to  get  very  healthy  and  high  quality  strains  from  me.  As  I  am  coming  over  during  June,  I  can  bring  along  some  for  you  guys  if  you  want.  Only  problem  is  whether  your  custom  will  give  problem  and  whether  it  is  illegal.

As  to  the  quality,  it  is  definitely  much  better  than  the  photos'.....sorry  Madan.

 Ciao,
 Andrew  Halo

 Thanks  a  lot  Andrew,

I  would  definitely  love  to  have  some  especially  the  koi  swordtails  and  the  blood  red  strains.  I  would  leave  other  part  to  be  answered  by  Madan  as  i  have  not  carried  any  fishes  with  me  while  coming  from  outside  India.  I  think  it  should  not  be  a  problem  but  not  sure.

Once  again  thanks  a  lot  for  your  help.  Cheering    Cheering      Cheering

 Regards,

 Madan,

I  kindly  request  you  not  to  put  the  condition  that  the  fishes  will  be  available  only  for  those  who  attend  the  Aquatika  2006  .  Because  I  am  still  not  sure  whether  I  will  be  able  to  attend  it  for  couple  of  reasons  one  being  that  my  brother’s  marriage  has  been  fixed  on  2nd  of  July  2006  (the  function  is  taking  place  in  Calicut,  Kerala)  and  other  one  i  will  not  disclose  it  now  as  i  am  not  sure  about  it.  Anyway  I  will  try  my  level  best  to  attend  the  meet  but  if  for  some  reasons  I  am  not  able  to  attend  then  also  I  want  the  fishes  very  badly.  Hope  you  understand  the  problems  and  can  help  me.

 Regards,

 Well,

As  the  date  draws  near,  we  can  affirm  to  things  Thumbs Up  .

Depending  on  the  quantity.  If  small  quantity,  bigger  sizes  are  possible.  If  higher  quantity,  smaller  sizes  are  more  convenient.  Thumb Up

 See  how....la....

 Andrew,

Hoping  that  things  go  well  and  you  are  able  to  bring  the  fishes  while  coming  for  the  event,  I  wanted  to  clarify  some  points  regarding  the  care  of  the  fishes.

 1)  Do  we  have  to  give  any  special  care  for  them?  If  any  what  are  the  suggested  things  that  needed  to  be  taken  care.

 2)  I  am  planning  a  separate  tank  for  them  .This  is  my  third  tank  exclusively  for  swordtails.  The  existing  two  tanks  are  planted  ones,  up  and  running  close  to  6-  7  months.  So  will  they  do  well  in  a  planted  tank?  If  the  planted  tank  is  fine  for  them  I  intend  to  start  the  tank  now  it  self  so  that  by  the  time  I  get  the  fishes  the  tank  would  have  some  what  stabilized.

Another  thing  that  I  wanted  to  know  is  about  the  blood  red  colour  strains  that  you  were  talking  about.  Are  they  the  one  called  Bergama  Swordtail    or  the  one  you  are  having  are  different  from  the  above  strains.

 Regards,

 Sridhar.P

 Hi  Sidhar,

No,  they  are  not  called  'Bergama'...I  have  never  given  such  a  name....being  where  the  creation  comes  from.  I  named  them  'Tancho  Swordtail'  and  'Kuhaku  sword'.

You  don't  need  special  care.  You  only  need  to  keep  them  away  from  other  strains  of  swordtails  because  many  swordtail  strains  are  infected.  Planted  tank  is  perfect.  Also,  don't  use  other  strains  of  ornamental  fishes  as  system  trials  (putting  into  this  new  tank).  By  doing  so,  you  may  be  innoculating  diseases    (parasites).

 Take  care,
 Andrew  Halo

 Yes  my  friend,

I  have  heard  they  are  doing  the  studies  in  some  European  University....almost  15  years  ago.

This  is  because  they  believe  that  the  black  pigment  (patches)  in  Sword  tails  is  similar  to  cancer  cells  in  human.

I  agree  with  them  to  a  certain  degree  but  as  my  many  years  experimenting  with  swordtails,  there  is  a  certain  difference.

The  black  pigment  is  permanent  and  does  not  spread  as  in  human  cancer.  The  moment  they  are  born  with  it,  the  colour,  the  size  of  the  patch  and  growth  stay  normal  throughout  their  live.  Basically,  it  is  congenital.

It  has  never  been  a  case  where  the  'black  cancerous  cell'  kills  a  swordtail.  So  whether  it  is  cancer  cell  or  it  is  cancerous..I  have  a  doubt.

 Andrew
