yes, you need to give it some time to sink on its own,
In the meanwhile weight it down with stone, since you will will be changing water regularly i think it will leach slowly. |

Found a drum, will weight it down for a week and boil it again...thanks for your help guys.  |

read this idea at one of the sites thought I'd share it hope it helps.
You can also try buying suction cups with screws on the back to achor the driftwood.
just make sure the screws are stainless steel. |

if u dont have a bucket to keep the driftwood and dont have tym to change water.......put the drift would in the flush tub of your toilet this way you dont hve to bother much take it out after what so ever tym boil it and keep in your tank.......until then u can put your java fern on substrate it will survive if u dnt completely cover the rizhome with substrate  |
