Yes. I usually use the reflectors when I make hood. This time, I didnt get time to buy it. I would be using them after some time.
Previous hood which I had done for my sisters tank 3 Feet Acrylic Hood.
I would use the same reflector in my hood too... |

Its the reflector that is used in the light fixtures (T5 and T12 tubes). Usually seen in the office lighting's. |

Thanks for the clarification, good thisng you used metal clamps the plastic ones expand with heat in due course and do not hold the PL Tube.

Hi josyjames,
Is the reflector none other than plastic mirror or any other. I made one for me but could not afford the plastic one so used a sticker sheets.Any idea where I can get these and what do they call them ( any particular name).

The reflector is metal. It would be an aluminum sheet and coated with the reflector material (silver coating). You can even try glass mirror. You get 2 - 3mm glass mirror from the photo framing shop. Since less thick, less weight. Hence you can lay it inside the hood.
There is no particular name. Basically reflector. You get one more type of reflector. It is white color sheet. Power coated aluminum or metal sheet. But silver coated would have more reflection. |
