As  Nayak's  Cam  went  kaput,  the  guys  are  restricted  with  minimum  pics  and  after  what  appears  to  be  a  trip  which  would  force  me  to  bang  my  head  with  Deepak's,  here  is  the  Check-list:

 1.Aplocheilus  blockii
 2.Aplocheilus  linneatus

It  was  a  4  day  trip  and  the  lads  are  just  heading  back  to  Bangalore.   There  are  a  whole  lot  of  people  who  think  we  go  wipe  out  the  whole  biotope  and  others  who  think  we  make  trips  to  get  free  fish.   Well  its  anyone's  right  to  speculate  whatever  is  intended.

The  facts  that  we  stick  to  are:
-We  never  catch  fish  we  can't  keep.
-We  never  catch  more  than  what  we  need.
-We  neither  sell  specimen  or  sell  location  details  to  anyone.   One  reason  we  aren't  disclosing  the  GPS  co-ordinates/locations  in  recent  trips.
-Almost  every  single  fish  that  is  caught  is  kept  alive  for  a  pretty  long  time.
-The  few  fishes  which  aren't  able  to  make  it  alive  are  preserved  and  used  for  study.
-We've  never  used  harsh  fishing  techniques.
-Every  single  fish  that  is  caught  either  stays  with  one  of  us  or  gets  passed  on  to  friends  who  are  capable  of  keeping  them  alive  for  a  long  time  or  preserved  or  left  back  where  they  were  caught.

And  for  the  ones  who  think  trips  are  made  to  get  free  fish,  the  time  &  money  spent  on  a  trip  is  exponentially  greater  than  buying  the  fish.

Madhu  ....  Light  hearted  comments  are  meant  to  be  taken  that  way  only  .  No  offence  was  meant  and  none  should  be  taken  too  .  Thanx   Sanjay  Dubey

Thumb Up  great  that  is  the  responsibility  of  genuine  hobbyst.  in  my  opinion  fishchasers  are  serious  hobbyist  would  like  to  join  them  some  time.
the  so  called  collection  trips  are  misunderstood  by  many.  fewer  or  none  of   those  specimen  are  preserved.  some  go  for  fun  as  a  fishing  picnics  and  some  to  collect  live  feeds  for  thier  monsters.many  of  them  doesn't  even  know  the  water  parametre  of  the  collected  biotope.

This  was  one  exhilarating  fishing  trip.  I  could  not  believe  we  could  have  so  much  fun  in  such  a  short  while.  There  were  a  lot  of  fishes  caught,  and  a  lot  of  new  things  learnt.  Rahul  and  John  patiently  answered  any  questions  regarding  the  fish  and  their  classification.  All  in  all  a  fantastic  trip.

The  list  shows  all  the  species  we  came  across.  We  did  not  bring  back  all  the  species  mentioned  in  the  list  but  only  what  was  needed  which  is  a  much  smaller  number.  The  rest  were  released  back  after  photographing/documenting  them.

Lets  wait  for  Nayak  to  come  up  with  the  travelogue…..
