Java  Mass  doesn't  require  any  substrate,  just  tie  it  with  the  driftwood.  Hairgrass  will  require  a  substrate.  If  you  intend  to  use  ADA  you  should  definitely  think  of  planting  more  stems  plants.

 Here  you  go!

I  m  planning  to  make  use  of  only  these  plants.
you  ll  need  atleast  pau-Kg  of  hairgrass

Also  can  I  use  eucalyptus,  mango,  neem  etc  as  driftwood???
Avoid  oily  woods,  I`ve  been  told  in  this  forum,  especially  mango.

How  many  neon  tetra  can  I  fit  in  it  ??????
 100

Which  filter  to  use.  I  am  planning  to  use  canister  filter  of  EHEIM  BRANDmodel  2217.
Is  one  sufficient????  Also  use  inner  power  filter  can  I  ????
 Yes,  powerhead  or  a  wavemaker.

Can  I  use  river  pebbles  and  rocks?????
 yes

 How  much  lightning.
Depends  whether  you  use  a  CO2  cylinder.  2.5-3W/gal  fluroscent  is  standard  for  your  carpet.

Two  CFL  BULBS  how  much  watt  should  be  each.????????
2  not  gonna  be  enough  Very Happy  ,  you  better  have  3-4  T5HOs,  4ft.

Yeah!  that  fraction  can  easily  get  to  be  5/5th  part,  so  go  slow  and  get  the  stuff  carefully  after  spending  some  time  on  forum...  or  untill  you  ve  experimented  enough  on  a  smaller  scale.

 Good  luck.

A  24  inch  tank  would  be  too  deep  for  a  planted  tank.
Light  will  not  reach  properly,  unless  you  use  very  good  reflectors.
 Keep  the  height  to  18.
If  you  are  new  to  planted  tanks,  leave  out  ADA,  for  a  tank  of  this  size  the  substrate  alone  will  cost  nearly  xxxx.
Lighting  will  also  be  a  issue  in  a  tank  of  this  size,  you  will  need  around  250w  of  lights.

 Thickness  of  glass  12  mm

 Is  that  correct?????
Yes  12MM  with  braces  will  do,  have  a  similar  tank  just  2  inches  wider  (50"*24"*24")  made  in  12MM

Also  which  substrate  to  use  in  java  moss  and  hairgrass.
Java  Moss  does  not  require  any  substrate  just  tie  it  to  driftwoods  or  rocks,  hairgrass  will  require  a  rich  substrate.  You  can  either  go  for  a  DIY  substrate  or  a  branded  one  like  ADA.  Branded  substrate  for  the  tank  this  size  would  cost  a  lot.  So  go  for  DIY  (bottom  layer  -  Cocopeat  soil,  Mid  layer  -  Laterite+Soilrite,  Top  layer  -  River  sand)  have  used  the  same  for  my  tank  and  am  getting  good  results)

I  m  planning  to  make  use  of  only  these  plants.
Also  can  I  use  eucalyptus,  mango,  neem  etc  as  driftwood???
These  woods  will  rot  in  water  so  avoid  them

How  many  neon  tetra  can  I  fit  in  it  ??????
 50nos  preferable

Which  filter  to  use.  I  am  planning  to  use  canister  filter  of  EHEIM  BRANDmodel  2217.
Is  one  sufficient????  Also  use  inner  power  filter  can  I  ????
One  2217  is  sufficient  (have  the  same  one),  you  can  use  a  powerhead  for  additional  flow,  required  in  a  planted  tank  due  to  various  reasons

Can  I  use  river  pebbles  and  rocks?????How  much  lightning.
Two  CFL  BULBS  how  much  watt  should  be  each.????????
CFL's  wont  provide  sufficient  lighting  in  a  24"  high  tank,  they  have  low  penetration  and  hairgrass  wont  grow  in  such  less  light,  so  a  tank  this  high  will  either  require  either  a  MH  or  a  T5HO,  I  am  using  2MH*150W,  you  can  also  opt  for  4  T5HO's  (more  feasible  option)

Also  you  will  have  to  provide  some  carbon  source  for  your  hairgrass  to  grow  and  a  Pressurised  CO2  setup  will  be  the  best  option  for  a  120gallon  tank  as  all  other  sources  such  as  Excel,  Glut  would  be  expensive  in  the  long  term  for  a  tank  this  size.....

 thanx  Sandeep  and  vijendra  .
If  java  moss  don't  need  substrate  than  how  to  use  them  as  carpet.
Ya  for  lightning  I  could  arrange  about  250  watts  for  sure.  Are  reflectors  a  necessity.

Java  moss  can  be  used  as  a  carpet  by  tying  it  to  a  mesh  and  putting  the  mesh  on  the  substrate.  You  can  cut  the  mesh  in  any  form  you  like.

For  lighting  you  also  have  to  consider  the  penetration  of  each  light  source  and  not  only  the  watts  per  gallon,  CFL  wont  work  for  a  24"  tall  tank  as  the  light  wont  penetrate  through  the  water  deep  enough  for  your  plants  to  grow,  so  T5HO  or  MH  is  the  best  option  for  a  tall  tank  as  yours.
