 Hi  Guys,

Never  had  a  peaceful  time  with  this  cylinder  stuff.

Got  the  cylinder  filled  after  a  super  long  time  and  I  fit  the  regulator  and  opened  the  tap  on  the  cylinder....  fisssss,  its  leaking  from  that  nut.
Its  a  fire  9Kg  extinguisher  cylinder  and  Im  just  filling  it  for  the  second  time  now.

Any  inputs  one  whats  to  be  done  will  be  greatly  appreciated.

You  have  to  open  the  main  valve  and  replace  the  rubber  washer  inside  but  to  do  that  the  cylinder  must  be  empty..  Something  like  this

ow  man!!  emptying  cylinder  and  refilling...  a  complete  work  worth  a  grand  Sad   Crying or Very sad  damm  Wall Bang

Many  thanks  for  the  link  Ruchit,  is  there  no  way  I  can  use  the  CO2?
Will  it  be  good  to  replace  the  whole  valve  or  just  the  rubber,  so  that  I  avoid  this  in  future?

Found  this  as  first  link  on  google,  will  it  not  help?
Another  thing  to  watch  out  for:  The  main  valve  on  the  CO2  tank  will  leak  around  the  valve-stem  if  the  valve  isn't  completely  open,  or  completely  closed.

I  think  replacing  just  the  rubber  washers  should  do  the  trick  instead  of  investing  in  a  whole  new  valve.  Have  you  tried  opening  the  valve  to  its  fullest  ?  If  that  works  out,  well  and  good.

No  Ruchit,  havent  tried  to  open  it   to  fullest,  I  m  super  afraid  as  to  what  might  be  the  outcome.

Just  need  you/someone  to  give  me  confidence  that  it  ll  be  ok  to  do  so

Sai  it  should  be  okay  but  try  doing  it  in  a  open  place  (incase  if  it  leaks  more  the  gas  may  make  you  feel  dizzy  in  a  closed  space)  or  take  it  to  the  professionals  who  handle  these  on  daily  basis..

 Sai

Go  to  the  your  refilling  shop,  he  will  tighten  the  valve,  even  after  that,  still  if  there  is  any  leakage  then  replacing  rubber  washers  will  work,  but  you  need  to  refill  cylinder

my  suggestion  is  replace  complete  cylinder  valve  set.  and  in  summer  keep  wet  cloth  over  the  cylinder

Call  me  if  you  any  doubts

 Thanks  Ruchit  and  Bharani.

Next  time  around  will  have  to  carry  my  regulator  to  do  the  check.

Bargaining  Auto->  getting  them  home->  travelling  10Km  ->  requesting  the  guy  to  repair  ->  Visit  on  day  2  after  fix  and  fill(apply  leave)  ->  bargain  Auto  ->get  cylinder  back  home,  God  forbid  this  cumbersome  task,  feel  I  was  better  off  with  that  1liter  soda  bottles.  Chuckle  wish  someone  talked  about  having  a  CAR  before  you  invest  in  CO2  cylinder...  yeast  was  just  in  walking  distance.

Some  day  I  ll  post  my  tank  on  IAH....surely  Jester

 Cheers!

The  same  problem  occured  with  me.  I  called  the  gas  filling  guys.  They  asked  me  to  tighten  this  valve.  Just  tightened  it  and  the  problem  was  solved.

@Saikumar,  you  must  have  got  refilled  from  plant.  These  guys  sometimes  open  this  safety  valve.
