 my  tank  is  2  x  1x  1.5  (lxbxh)
well  i  asked  him  to  make  it  with  6  mm  glass  completely  ,  but  it  was  made  with  5  mm  glass  with  6mm  base  (bottom  glass  )
I  DINT  SEE  ITS  THICKNESS  WHEN  I  BROUGHT  IT  ,  BEFORE  A  MONTH  ITS  BOTTOM  GLASS  CRACKED  ,  DUE  TO  UNEVEN  LEVELING  (TOTALLY  MY  FAULT)
well  after  purchase  it  was  used  as  a  planted  tank  with  about  7  to  10  kg  substrate  ,  now  was  thinking  to  house  a  9  or  10  inch  flowerhorn
is  it  possible  for  a  flowerhorn  ,  ?
well  i  am  redoing  the  bottom  glass  with  a  new  6mm  glass  shall  i  use  8  mm  ??

sorry  so  many  tiny  doubts  ?  but  all  these  doubts  will  help  in  decision  making

 waiting  eagerly  for  expert  advice

Minimum  size  of  tank  should  one  have  for  one  flowerhorn  to  grow  out  his  potentials  is  60  gallons  (1  gallons  -  3.17  ltrs  app).  They  can  grow  to  12-14  inches,  males  grow  faster  than  females.  In  one  rare  case,  the  biggest  flowerhorn  has  been  reported  to  be  25  inches  -  ILC  Biggest  Golden  Base  Flowerhorn.

1  U.S.  Gallon  is  3.75  liters  &  1  Imperial  Gallon  is  4.54  liters.  please  don't  provide  false  information.  read  it  twice  on  net  or  consult  some  book  before  putting  anything  on  any  open  forum  like  iah.

many  of  you  dont  know  /  remember  me
 i  have  been  keeping  flowerhorns,etc  from  2  1/2  yrs  ...
i  know  its  small  but  as  i  moved  my  house  my  4  feeter  cracked...
its  in  a  2ftx1ftx15inch  ...  changing  to  2x1x1.5ft  ...  hence  some  increase  in  water  volume
and  by  the  way  i  was  dormant  for  1  your  in  fish  keeping  ,  but  i  was  in  www.flowerhorncraze.com  as  well  in  IAH
i  have  seen  many  people  growing  FH  in  small  tank  ,however  i  give  lots  of  space  to  other  of  my  FH
its  8.5  or  9  inch  and  its  growth  is  stopped  ,  dont  know  why  .
i  provided  4ftx1ftx20  inch  ..  for  nearly  2+  years   but  its  growth  is  stunned  its  a  male  i  assure  you,  a  bit  of  kok  ,nice  red
feeding  Ocean  free  products  ,  shrimp  E  ,tried  some  local  foods  but  no  change  in  breath  and  length  of  the  fish
i  am  growing  this  FH  because  it  is  my  first  FH

HERE  THE  QUESTION  IS  NOT  ABOUT  THE  fh  ITS  ABOUT  THE  TANK  MADE  OF  5MM  GLASS  WITH  6MM  BASE  WITHSTAND  A  fh  ?

ya  there  is  no  problem  if  the  flowerhorn  has  stopped  growing  but  that  dosent  mean  that  the  the  amount  of  waste  produced  by  it  is  less  so  if  the  tank  is  small  you  have  to  make  too  much  of  water  changes  ,so  the  water  chemistry  will  keep  on  changing  which  will  result  in  stressing  the  fish.  And  1feet  =  12  inches  so  there  will  be  very  less  space  for  him  to  turn  around.more  over  if  your  fish  is  very  active  it  would  be  very  hard  to  clean  the  tank  because  he  will  always  chase  your  hand   ROFL   ROFL   ROFL
SO  I  WOULD  SAY  A  CLEAR  NO  FOR  FLOWERHORN  IN  SMALL  TANK  Dancing
