Praveen here from Coimbatore, working as an IT Auditor in an MNC. I am from Coimbatore but work in Bangalore/Hyderabad/Madurai.. I also keep shuttling a lot between other places. Enough of that,
I have been rearing fish since I was in 1st Grade and have always had some kind of a fish tank or the other. Right now my interest is leaning towards a planted tank with shrimps in them. My existing tank is also a planted tank with different species of Barbs in them.
My other interests are Riding (www.kovaithumpers.com), Cycling and Fishing (Am I allowed to say this here). But I love Angling as well.
My past fews days as an observer on IAH has actually made me realize my ignorance on so many topics and am looking to learn a lot more from now on.
P.S. Any time there's a collection trip happening in Coimbatore pls count me in as well.

Hi, This is Navneet Chouhan.
I am 18 year old student, living with parents in a town named Timarni in a small district Harda of MP.
I have kept fishes since the age of seven but that stock was wiped out completely when we had to go to my uncle's marriage and my father gave them the food for those seven days in a go (as we were newbies). Anyway , t after that drastic event, I again stocked with goldfishes after two years.
So from the age of 9 till now I have kept goldfishes, glass fish, Betts, mollys, sharks grey one and some more I don't know.
Now I am keeping two fantails and a turtle in 24 gallon tank whick is 3 feet lenght one feet height and onefeet front to back distance.
I know its bit overstocked.
But the fantails are about two inches and Mickey the turtle is 5inches from head to tail.
Also I have a outdoor plastic tub whick contains lotus and in fauna is 4mollys, one orange , one silver ,two
Black. And also about 15 fry of these. I think they are of orange as they are not black nor silver.
Also I m planning for 120 gallon tank measuring four feet in lenght and two feet both breath and height with bracings.
So this is me. Hoping we would have good time and we will be friends forever and ever........

Hi, my name is Guido, Im from Rotterdam, The Netherlands..
Im a professional musician, and I started my first aquarium about a year ago, because I saw how much fun it can be at my brothers house who has 3 South American tanks each 180 liters...
My tank however is very small, only 17 liters...I started with 3 balloon mollys and some guppies but a few months ago some of them died, I only have 2 guppies and 1 molly now... then a friend of mine got me 2 botia striatas and recently i got a beaufortia kweichowensis... i really like the botia striatas and realizing my tank is too small and they should be kept in groups of at least 5/6 i am now saving some money to buy a bigger tank, most likey a 180 Jewel Rekord... for now they seem to be doing good, but they are still small...
I joined this forum because I'm looking for advice and inspiration for my new tank, which I want to be an Indian biotope, so the guppies and molly will stay in the small tank and the Botia Striatas and beaufortia kweichowensis (i know its Chinese, not Indian) will get some friends and move into the big tank..i really like the Indian fish and plants so far but I need some help putting them together to create a nice 'original' biotope...;-) so far Ive been looking at the Koyna river and Tungabhadra river (and Krishna) as well for inspiration...

Namaste, Salam, Sat Sri Akam and hello to all.
I am Sameer from Mumbai.
I am Electrical Engineer. I am having aquarium since last 20 years. Currently having a small set up of 1no. 36" X 12" X15" and one 12" X 6"x 6" for fish fry.
Previously I have done breeding of gouramis, swordtails, guppies just for fun. I love to collect more fish and breed them. I am also studying about more and more fish species and their breeding technics.
Now I am planning to increase my set up by adding four more bigger tanks and to be a professional fish breeders.
Sandeep From Pune, Maharashtra. Computer Engineer and working 5 days of week
Having small setup @ present including.
1. 24 * 12 * 15 inches primary Aquarium - Having Angels, Guppy, Lots of Mollies, Black Tetra, Columbus, Rainbow, Tiger shark & Red tail shark, with Aquarium plants, gravels etc.
2. 12 * 10 * 10 inches seconday Aquarium - bought for a)keeping fish which are not well & b) keeping fishes who are about to deliver newbies
3. medium size bowl - for keeping fish fries. So far My Black mollies have delivered twice and having around 40 odd fries(one lot is one month old & other is just a week old), so everytime I move fries from my small tank to this bowl.
First time I kept fishes around 17 years ago(at that time I was in Kolhapur) and now it's been 3-4 months I have bought this setup, one after another.
Its been a wonderful experience keeping an Aquarium @ home. I think everyone should have a smaller / bigger Aquarium @ their Home.
