Hi Guys,
In bangalore we always face problem with water quality. After so many failure in rearing the fries. Now I got them right. I have two spawn doing great. One on their 3 week and other on their 2 week.
John (Johnnymc IAH ID) he shared the below information to me yesterday and successful in raising the betta fries with maximum fry survival. I'm also doing the same.
If you are using TAP/kaveri water, store in a bucket for 4 to 6 days. Then use the water from the bucket for filling breeding tank and add almond or teak leaf to it. Then cover the tank a paper sheet or cloth to avoid cold drafts. Don't add or change water for the first two weeks. Feed them with micro worms two times daily.
Note: Almond leaves - helps to form infusoria in the water, once fry are in free swimming stage, they feed on them for about first 2 to 4 days.
