 Guys,

Take  ref  to  my  earlier  thread  "Fishless  Cycling"  in  which  eventually  i  added  a  black  molly.  The  black  molly  off  late  was  sitting  a  lot....Today  when  i  got  back  from  work....straight  went  to  my  tank...i  could  see  some  thing  protuding  off  the  back  of  my  molly...after  searching  a  few  minutes  i  saw  one  black  fry  on  the  crushed  coral  sand...it  keeps  wiggling...i  saw  another  one  but  this  one  was  half  formed  and  probably  dead...i  am  waiting  to  see  what  happens  next...

the  count  stops  at  4  babies,  all  alive  into  the  3rd  day.  Can  anyone  tell  me  in  how  many  days  the  babies  start  full  fledged  swimming  and  more  relevant  info  on  them.

since  these  4  guys  have  taken  birth  in  my  tank  i  have  planned  "not  to  remove"  them  instead  let  nature  build  up  their  resistance  for  the  environment.    If  u  guys  can  provide  me  any  and  all  details  on  baby  mollys  i  would  be  grateful

PS  -  My  nitrite  rised  for  the  first  time  from  the  trace  0.1  to  somewhat  higher.

Molly  babies  will  swim  freely  within  half  an  hour  of  birth  or  so.
You  can  feed  them  very  finely  powdered  flakes  -  they  are  large  enough  to  eat  that.
They  might  get  eaten  by  the  adult  mollies  if  you  don't  remove  them.

Rock On  for  the  nitrites.  Whats  it  reading  at?

As  Beta  suggested  in  the  other  thread  use  a  plastic  basket  with  holes  in  the  tank  to  sperate  the  adults  if  you  don't  want  to  remove  the  new  borns  off  the  tank!

of  course  it  is  a  marine  tank  ...its  just  that  these  4  guys  are  born  in  here  so  they  gonna  be  bought  up  in  here  too...unless  nature  decides  their  fate  differently.

i  am  waiting  for  some  days  for  my  tank  to  complete  its  cycle.

The  molly  fry  aren't  going  to  produce  enough  ammonia  to  get  your  tank  cycling.
Get  the  adults  back  in  the  tank  if  you  want  to  keep  the  cycle  running.

As  an  alternative,  since  you  ve  already  put  fish  in,  you  aren't  going  the  fishless  way  anymore.
Just  cycle  the  tank  with  a  damsel  instead.  You  may  have  to  get  rid  of  it  later  if  it  is  too  aggressive  to  other  fish  though.

 hi  psihman

i  am  aware  that  the  frys  wont  help  to  cycle  as  for  that  matter  even  the  black  molly  wudnt  have.

parallel  to  my  4  frys,  there  are  2  mr  dead  prawns  (since  4  days  )  lying  in  the  net  with  water  flow  pointed  at  it.  quite  decomposed  i  must  say...to  fasten  the  process  i  have  added  azoos  11  in  1  super  bacteria  and  PSB.

I  can  already  see  the  NO2  rising  slow  but  steady...risen  from  the  earlier  0.1  and  now  between  the  belt  of  0.1  to  0.5  range...

what  say  guys  when  can  the  first  fish  (marine)  swim  in??

 Which  one?  your  choices?
