Hey Guys
Few days ago, in hope of finding some baby red wrigglers in a bag of store bought vermicompost, I stumbled across hundreds of small white worms appox 1/2 inch sized which I mistook to be baby red wrigglers
After googling a bit, I realized that they might be grindal worms
So I separated a few(around 50-60) and placed them in box with holes in it
I put pieces of charcoal at bottom then added a mixture of torn newspapers and the vermicompost mixtute containing the worms
But thats all I know about grindal worms!
please tell me how long will it take to reach harvesting population and what food should I put into the culture
Thanks |

best ways to culture grindals is to keep them in synthetic cotton and/or scott brite...thats what i do as told by deepakg to me...you will find many diff ways if u google a little....i feed them oats and they multiply very fast....i have kept two cultures so i can feed my fish daily by using each culture on alternate days...
please update your location

I live in NCR, Haryana
PLease tell me one thing
what exactly is Oats
I thought it was dahlia(rolled wheat grains)
But how are these worms don't seem like they can chew dahlia
So what do I do?
Do I grind it or just use wheat flour in place of dahlia? |

Thanks Deepak! I clearly got the difference now
I'm gonna get some oats or at least get some jaw and grind it myself
Till then, I'll try wheat flour |
