Got this off a lab.
Can i use this for planted tanks?
Last time i tried around 3-4ml, all the fishes in the tank died.Nothing happened to the plants though.
Please help me on this.

3-4ml of 25% Glut you must be kidding  . By the way it is highly toxic , so keep away from pets and kids . Please dig out old threads . There are at least 2-3 threads in which a lot of discussion has taken place regarding dilution etc . If you ask me by my experience it is worthless . It only kills algae and mosses . And definitely 25% concentration is just too much . You need to dilute it . BTW post some pics of your planted tank. |

almost everybody buy this concentration and make the required solution adding RO water
you cant use 2-3ml of this bottle solution directly, it will be very high for your tank, so fishes died.
Old thread has calculations to make the desired solution. Go through those!!! |

You must dilute by 1:15 to get total 0f 16 parts.. that is You have 0.5 lts of this 25% solution, add another 7.5 liters of water to get around 1.5% solution.. dosing is as per flourish excel regime.. or may be 1ml per 5 gallon
if you are using as carbon source for plants and double the dose if using for algae eradication.. And as this is a dangerous chemical, handle out doors before diluting, be care full even after diluting..
these are said to be harmful to inverts and certain plants.. |

be careful.do your research well.i dosed it and there was an anaerobic bloom in my tank,with water going milky and water was smelling.more than 80% water change over a period of 24 hours helped.luckily livestock was unaffected.i caught the problem in time so was able to rectify it.will use it again starting at 1/10th the recommended dosage.tank is 900 litres ,planted with discus.i am not saying this is bad,but do your research well and handle very carefully as highly toxic.many people are using it and getting excellent results

Dissolve 15 ml of Glut. in 1 lit of water.
This will give you the same % as in Flourish excel.
The dosage to be used is
After every water change 5 ml for every 10g of water.
Thereafter 5 ml for every 50 g of water daily.
If you want to use it as algaecide, dose at double or at the most triple.
It is very toxic at 25 % concentration so take care |
