Its called By different names.. Vaastu, feng-shui... etc.
Every experts from these fields have their own say about Aquariums.. not mention that, What one says is totally different from another..
And then, there are myths and mythologies included as well..
Now that these experts are going on line, you get all kinds of hilarious suggestion for aquarium..

Now a days majority of the houses/flats are not constructed with correct Vaastu resulting major loss to the owner. To derive best financial benefits, keeping aquarium is one of the best remedy. To drive away the evil effects and enhance good luck in the house, Aquarium is one of the best ways. An aquarium consists of nine fishes out of which eight gold or red fish and one should be black. Even if fish dies, you need not worry and the bad elements are going out of your house. Replace the same again. Please do remember that an aquarium should not be kept anywhere in the house except in the main hall and the best direction is East or North. Now you will find change gradually.
And this site is all about Mythology, Dhrishty and maintenance as well.
Ornamental Fishes in glass tanks, known as Fish Aquariums are kept in houses, offices and shops as a decorative and remedial application for Vastu defects all over the world. In Hindu mythology Lord Vishnu took birth in our earth in nine Avatars to save His devotees and save the earth. His first Avatar is 'Matchavatar' as a fish in the sea.
Every human being must give feed to at least few animals as a gesture of humanity. By way of keeping an aquarium in his place, this good cause can be easily practiced by feeding the fishes. The fishes are very humble animals and they reciprocate the feeder with their blessings. Positively their blessings will help them lead their life peacefully, as the fishes are Lord Vishnu's Avatars.
Ornamental fishes are colorful and attract everybody by their beauty. They are very active and never rest. They go on swimming and playing all the day. By observing their activities everybody get energy and relaxation immediately. This helps in reducing the stress and strain from the minds of people and thus helps improve their health.
When guests enter a place their vision called 'Dhrishty', which are bad energies due to their exclamation spoils the good energies of the house and create lot of problems for the residents. When the guests see the fish aquarium while they enter the house, all their vision and exclamations pass to the aquarium. The fishes have a high degree of protective energy due to their Lord Vishnu's Avatar and they consume this bad energy 'Dhrishty'. Thus the house is protected and residents live peacefully.
Fish tanks store lot of water and hence help in balancing the weight of the place as per Vastu Shastra. Fish tanks are to be kept in a hall or veranda in the southwest corner preferably to balance the weight. The fish aquarium should be visible, while the guests are seated in the sofa.
Because of the live movements of the fishes and presence of water the active energies are increased in the place and improve 'Chi' as per Feng Shui, which brings in good health and wealth.
People of any religion can keep fish aquariums in their places, as the fishes are not harassed are humiliated by keeping them in a tank. They live only in water and hence attract no sins. By feeding and providing them a place to live peacefully with clean water and air circulation, all human beings will be blessed by them. This is a great cause and improves our 'Punniam.'
As per Feng Shui four pair golden colored fishes and two pairs of black colored fishes give very good results. Fishes that are grown well and at least three months old are good as they could sustain the negative energies in the house better. The food must be calculated and fed regularly and by a single person only. As the fishes have poor digestion if the food is given more than required they may die soon.
Water must be changed frequently and filters are necessary for keeping the water clean. Proper aeration and water circulation make the condition better and enable the fishes live long and healthy. If the fishes die frequently it is a clear indication of improper position of the aquarium and bad Vastu energy in the house.
Small ponds can be created in the north east corner, east or north sides of a plot or ground to keep some beautiful fish aquarium as Vastu remedy. Fishes positively have the extra ordinary powers that the Almighty has blessed with to remove all the bad energies in a place and create positive vibrations.
The last site really opened my eyes.. from tomorrow, I will put some flowers and burn some incense sticks and ask for blessings from fishes. |

 I liked it. It is a "POINT OF VIEW". overall, the whole article is giving positive approach towards keeping aquarium. I started keeping aquarium in 2007. I saw a small one in my brothers house and felt realy relaxed the first time I saw it. I believe what is written herein about 80% of it is right, IMO-  thanks for sharing. |

You can buy small water fountain kits and use it in fish bowl..
In Bangalore you get them in S.P.Road. |

| the best thing is. a person came to my house to advice on vaastu i had a 300l aquarium right side to my bed he said it is bad and there should be about 1000kg to the left side of my bed. parents were forced to get me a bigger tank ! +1 to vaastu man !!! |

Some Worried Clients clearing their doubts..
Q) 3 days back I bought an Aquarium and 2 Gold Fishes died yesterday itself.Water is of good quality and I gave teh same food which the pet shop provided me.Light over the tank was OFF when they died.Till the time it was ON they survived for 2 days as the LIGHT was on continously.May I please know whats the reason that they died and what are the factors which really matter these fishes and how can I keep them alive?Does the LIGHT have any impact over the fishes?
May be they were light powerd fishes
Q) Where should we place aquarium in house. Which corner?
Also, is growing algae in aquarium brings bad luck, atleast it makes the tank looks green.

Q) I want to understand how an aquarium or fish tank is going to affect our life. Is it not going to increase a new task of your daily routine and extra money to be spent.

Q) we bought 8 gold fish and one black moore and placed them in north west corner of home, since I heard that it dies with negative energy, I ensured that no outsiders be invited over, however a month later we had surprise visitors who saw the tank and one died instantly, eversince all are going one by one, they were very dear to me and I named them beautifully, now I am left with 3 and the blackmoore too has gone, hope their soal rests in peace, We change water and clean tank monthly, give tonic and stress meds whenever required, treat the water with med provided by the shop and feed them and check temp timely, where are we going wrong and what is the significance! pl help, anyone…

I have a nice fish aquerium with clean water and continue air supply and givening food as per pet shop keeper instruction. I put 8 gold fish and one black fish.
Some how the black fish was die suddenly as per few minuts ago it’s live and play regularly.
PLEASE GIVE ANSWER BELOWE SOME QUESTION. BEACAUSE MY CHILD WAS CRYING WHEN BLACK FISH WAS DIE.
What can I do when any fish die ?
What is the effect if black fish die and gold fish die ?
After it’s deth what should we do of it’s body ?
He will definately perform the last rites and rituals if told so.. |

At the risk of incurring wrath of Gods I would like to state that Lord Vishnu is supposed to have 12 avatars.
Now one of them is supposed to be a a "Boar", now how about keeping that.
I keep fish because I like them, period. |
