Besides,  our  logo  is  based  on  Etroplus  Canarensis,  a  fish  found  ONLY  in  India.

Changing  a  logo  after  every  photo  contest  would  not  be  very  advisable.  Smile
However  on  the  homepage  of  IAH  such  photographs  can  find  a  longish  time  frame  &  with  appropiate  credits.
These  Photos  can  also  find  place  of  honour  in  Aquatika  of  that  particular  year.

I  hope  we  get  more  entries.
At  this  point  number  of  judges  outnumber  no  of  photographs.  Chuckle

Logos  shouldn't  be  changed  at  all...  and  the  logo  we  have  for  IAH  is  unique....

As  Sandeep  suggests  we  could  have  the  photograph  on  the  home  page  that  won  the  Photo  Contest  until  the  next  contest....

Would  there  be  coming  contests  like  Tank  of  the  Month,  Fish  of  the  Month  contests  as  like  in  other  forums??

 Madanji,  what  do  you  say??

I  think,  we  should  also  have  new  forums  created  for  the  photo  contest  instead  of  them  being  in  the  Event  Forum.

 What  say  moderators?

   ROFL  Good  one,  Sandeep

I  guess  people  are  working  on  their  cameras  to  compete  with  Madanji's  great  snaps.  Very Happy

Yeah,  changing  logo  everytime  would  not  be  great  idea.  Just  thought  live  fish  could  be  better  than  cartoon  fish.

Its  good  to  have  native  indian  fish  in  IAH  logo,  thanks  moderators.  Smile

Right  now  the  entries  have  just  about  beat  the  No.  of  Judges.  Very Happy

Let's  see  the  response.  It  will  be  good  IMO.  We'll  take  it  up  one  at  a  time.

The  first  contest  will  appear  inadequate,  but  once  it's  done,  it  will  look  good.

Here's  something  we  learnt  about  logo  design  the  hardway.

The  logo  should  be  easily  reproduceable  in  every  type  of  manufacture/reproduction,  on  every  kind  of  material.

We  found  that  with  our  logo  using  pastel  shades  &  gradient  fill,  and  7  colors,  we  are  limited  to  reproducing  this  logo  using  only  Digital  Media,  that  too  against  a  white  background.  On  a  color  background,  we  need  to  put  in  a  white  underlay  and  then  print  the  logo  in  order  not  to  distort  the  colors.

It  is  impossible  to  screen  print  this  logo  or  embroider  it  keeping  the  aunthenticity  of  the  colors.

With  digital  media  reproduction,  the  minimum  quantity  is  too  high  in  the  order  of  thousands,  or  else  it  is  not  cost  effective.

Logos  should  have  colors  that  are  easily  reproduceable  like  Red,  blue,  green,  yellow,  black  and  white.  We  are  talking  of  primary  colors  here.  Other  colors  will  give  you  a  shade  difference  from  one  reproduction  to  another.

Imagine  the  trouble  if  we  had  a  real  fish  in  place!

a  logo  is  a  unique  id  of  any  organisation  which  mostly  becomes  a  brand  recognised  easily  by  people  and  should  never  be  changed  unless  absolutely  required!
 @Madan,
why  don't  we  make  a  small  gift  hamper  for  the  winner  -  say  a  souvenier  from  IAH!  (a  T-shirt  or  something)

 Sir,

The  original  picture  is  having  640x480  resolution.  But  when  I  upload  the  same  to  my  gallary,  it  shows  400x300.

Please  help  me  how  to  resize  in  600xXXX.

 Thanks.

There  are  actually  quite  a  few  pictures  which  are  not  600  *  xxx  in  the  competition  at  the  moment.
All  of  Neil's  pics  are  591  *  xxx  ,  Entry  5  from  Madan  is  800*600,  and  Yogoranda's  has  dissappeared.

 @Yogoranda
 1.  Go  to  http://www.resize2mail.com/
 2.  Select  your  image;  select  600*450  size  and  click  okay.
 3.  Save  the  resized  photo  to  your  computer  and  reload  it  into  the  IAH  gallery.
 4.  When  you  get  to  your  IAH  gallery,  click  on  your  photo  thumbnail  to  get  to  the  photo  preview.
 5.  When  you  see  the  photo  preview,  click  on  that.  You  will  get  a    pop-up  showing  the  full  sized  photo.  Link  this  image  to  the  contest  thread.

*This  above  method  will  only  work  for  4*3  aspect  ratio,  anything  else  will  be  warped.
