Hi, I am Rajdeep from AGARTALA, TRIPURA. I am probably the first person from my state to join this forum!
I am an engineering student and I recently upgraded my 7 year old 80 L tank to 250 L tank. Currently I have 3 iridescent shark (1 white), black angels, black widow tetra, rainbow sharks and two Cichlids (I don't know the names, neither the LPS owner) and 1 gold fish.
Since fish keeping is not so popular in my city, equipment are not cheap here. So I and my father make most of my aquarium equipment. For my new aquarium, I made a sump filter as power filters are costly here and the tank roof.
let me Introduce myself ,
Am Binu,based in Bangalore,
have been lurking around in this forum from quite some time, never got the chance to provide Proper Intro...
have always been interested in Keeping Aquariums, but never got the time or encouragement to keep one,how ever ended up as an Angler...,
any way ,without any doubt this is a Great forum & database for any person interested in keeping & maintaining aquariums,
the best part is that the Veterans in this hobby are quite supportive in helping Budding aquarium hobbyist.
after a long wait.one of my friend when relocating gave me his old 30x15x15 inch Aquarium ,& a small pump.
now am trying to setup my 1st Planted Aquarium setup ,without any Co2 .
& some small fishes like Cardinal or Neon Tetra's along with Cabomba & Amazon Sword plants,
would appreciate if the Experts in this Forum can share some tips on,
a) what base to use for the plants,
b) do we need to put gravel or chips on top of the mud base.
c) is hard to maintain Cardinal or Neon Tetra's. & its food etc.
D)water change frequency for the above setup,
& pump or Heater if required,
& which is the best place in Bangalore to get the above at a reasonable rate near Vidyaranayapura.
apologies for asking so many questions ,after reading so many info on the forum.am kind of confused,
thanks in advance
PS : Am already planning to get a 6 or 7 Feet aquarium for Oscar Setup. Smile

HI Every one
myself prashant kumar i am from patna an electrical engineer.
currently i have 2 tank one is 42 gallon cichlids and other is 13 gallon plant tank:)
My Name is Dinesh and i have been watching and reading this forum from the beginning of 2012 and just recently have joined it to become a permanent fixture here! LOL!
My craze with aquariums started when my dear wife gifted a small bowl with 4 fishes to me . We thought they were guppies but soon came to know that two were Goldfish and two were Silver Mollies. Sadly, the Mollies passed away however the Goldies continue to thrive happily in my new basic tank -1.5x1x1(about 40 litres) with Sand Substrate(quite easy to clean IMO), plastic plants and a HOB Filter Rated at 800 L/H. (which i think should be enough for my tank).
Now, thanks again to my wife, the tank has 2 Swordtails, 4 guppies, 4 Goldfishes and 4 Golden Apple Snails.
I am hoping to upgrade to a bigger tank soon(which will be purely tropical and a planted tank!)

Hi this is Maheep here, i'm from Ludhiana. I'm a realtor & also into farming, i'm a Dog (Rottweiler specifically) breeder by passion. So you can say i'm an animal lover in general. My love for fishes dates back when i was in school and maybe just 10-12 years old, used to go n collect wild fishes from ponds/rivers etc. Then during senior school years i left my hobby, now after almost 15 years the passion again got alive somehow, and since 2 years i started to keep fish again. Currently i have 2 tanks at home, one is a planted 4 feet tank with neon tetras, congo tetras, red cherry shrimp, and soon going to add harlequin rasboras and rummy nose tetras. Its a complete setup with CO2 unit, chiller, canister filter etc. My second tank is an American Cichlid tank, currently housing a 10" Green Terror, 6" Paratilapia Polleni, 6" Texas Cichlids, a small 3" EBJD, 4 x firemouths & tow 4"GT's. Future plans include getting rid of the firemouths & 4" GT's to make way for Red Head Tapajos & a Jaguar Cichlid. Desperately trying to find the original Jack Dempsey & Indonesian Tiger Fish, lets see when i finally get it. That's more or less about me, thanx & regards
Im Jason from bangalore. Was keeping fishes for a long time now but now im getting more interested in the planted aquarium area. I think now im more interested in aquascaping than the fishes.
Just created my first planted aquarium a week back. Im using a DIY co2 setup made with a 2 litre pepsi bottle a bubble counter with a half litre pepsi bottle, (1.5 cups sugar & quarter teaspoon yeast) connected to a check valve and for the diffusser im just inserting it right into the intake of my submerged powerhead filter. Gives me a fine bubble spray.
Here are some pictures for you guys of my freshly planted triangle shaped tank.
Im looking forward to meeting people from Bangalore with the same hobby so that we can discuss ideas and also maybe exchange overgrown or excess plants etc in due time.
I am Aniket age 27 , I am Insurance advisor from last 3 years, I living in Mumbai, I just started my fish tank from 4 months since fishs are grown up therefore I want to buy new fish tank , I have 6 angels, 5 gouramies, 4 red mollies,& 2 ramrezi In new fish tank will be planted

Hello,
I am Amchigeli from Mangalore. I have been involved with the hobby since my childhood as my father used to keep aquariums. I used to help him then, especially digging up earthworms in Monsoon to feed the fishes.
Currently I am in Bangalore and have three aquariums. One of them have tetras and catfish, the other Gourami's and a new tank which I am planing for planted.
I will brouse through this amazing forum and get to learn a lot about planted tanks.
