|

I m planning to make a DIY cabinet/stand/Rack for all of my pets so that I have them in one place and I need ideas.
First let me start with the list of living beings I have and the tank/habitat details:
Tank 1:
Size - 15inches x 15 inches x 9inches
Filter - Hang on back 120 l/h
4 guppies.
3 tangerine sword tails
1 white molly
Tank 2:
size = 12 x 12 x 12 (inches)
Sponge filter with Airpump
4 Red Cherry shrimps
Planted tank with mostly carpet grass, amazons
tank 3
size 30 x 18 x 12 (inches)
no filter
1 turtle
3 inches of water
Plastic tub with wire mesh lid
2 white Rats
small bird cage
2 lovebirds
The birdcage and the turtle tank is in the balcony. The Fish tanks are on two different tables (one near my computer table and another on a corner table) and the rat tub is in my bed room. I have come up with a basic design, but I m confused about the lighting and filter stuff. Please input your ideas. Give me suggestions, designs etc. |

If your plannng to keep birds along with the fish tanks then dont be surprised if u see bird food , feather etc etc all over the water in your shrimp, guppy and turtle tank.
Just a suggestion , since your keeping birds also u must be knowing the litter in front of the cage.
Regards

@Zipperboy - The Birds do make a mess, but then the cage is very small right now. With the new cabinet based design, I had in mind, I was hoping the mess will be less as they get the whole top floor of the cabinet.
@Garothmaan - I do have a lioness at home. She doesn't know about my Idea till now. But once she knows, I m not sure you will see me around for some time...... |

Munna that was an awesome reply y .
Anyways I will also not suggest keeping lovebirds above the aquarium because of the reason below.
1. No matter how hard you try the small feathers and the skin of the grains you feed them (I Think you understand what I want to say) will fall into the aquarium.
2. If you are allergic to dust as I am, it is not advisable to keep lovebirds inside.
3. If you want the love birds to breed keep them in a place where there is less disturbance and the cage should not shake. Which is inevitable if you have your tank along with it.
4. Love birds also need some direct sunlight and fresh air to thrive.
5. Also I have felt that lovebirds are not so comfortable when kept above a water body. I am not sure why but when I had my lovebird cage just beside our Open well the birds were not at all breeding. When I changed the location they are doing good. Might be because they sense even the small water movement underneath like water entering the well from ground or some other thing. Not sure but try this out......
I keep and breed lovebirds. They are very easy to breed and adorable. You will have a separate hobby as such and will earn some money if you give a little care to your lovebirds.
So don't keep your love birds on this stand. |
