I dont think this project is started as yet, so supplements is in the near future, if you are talking about calcium need then i think it is going to be a two part. But, in a sps tank you wont consider calcium as a supplement! |

Thanks all.
Just a small delay in completing the civil works and plumbing.
In another couple of days that should be completed and water should be filled or
Testing.
As Ashok mentioned it will be initially a two part dosing of CA and ALK along with MG as per randy homes part 2 soln, currently that is what is being done in my existing tank. |

Dear Friends,
Thought i will do an update on my tank...
been ages since my last post on my tank as it really was so irritating with many many mishaps ... some of them are here:
1. too much of confidence - i cleaned and quarantined some LR with water mixed with regular rock salt!!! lost 1 week in cleaning up the mess and eliminating the smell... then had to do a bleach and do a HCL bath to make it dead rock - and hence officially make all the rocks in my tank as Dead rocks.
2. While mounting the modular LED panels, the frame was not strong enough, and with just a pair of hands, standing on a 5' tall stand, i saw the led's fall into my tank one by one, and were glowing bright inside the tank.... man i made water proof LEDs. .... was screaming for 10minutes before got my lovely wife to come and help, and unfortunately had all the 5 LEDs panels into the water and when removed - they were totally rusted in circuits within few minutes - man salt water...
3. tried to meddle with my controller and made it go for a toss... and hence all my devices were not controllable hence making it a light less tank...
will all the about three errors i lost a few months in setting them right...
and this is what is new:
1. Got a redesigned LED panel module with reds and greens incorporated...
2. A touch screen Controller.. still under testing phase...
and when testing my touch screen controller, i ended up dosing 6300ml of Alk instead of 120ml per day.. and alk went from 6.4 to 17... thought i will end up losing all my corals, but ended up losing a few...
have some frags in the tank as of now, 3 fishes... thats the stocking...
will post with images tommorow... as now i am happy with the setting and tank is recovering with dead stuff coming back to life!!! thats the most amazing part of this Reefing!!! |
