I  received  my  bettas  Yesterday  and  one  of  the  Hm  males  was  lazy  so  i  looked  at  it  closely  and  noticed  a  swollen  red  colour  bump  on  one  of  its  side.  I  have  attached  photos.  The  scales  only  on  this  swollen  portion  are  raised,  other  scales  are  normal.  No  external  parasite  visible.   Betta  Experts  Please  kindly,  advice  how  to  treat  it  and  what  could  be  the  reason  for  this  bump?

seen  the  pic  ..lazy  ness  is  ok  some  bettas  are  very  very  lethargic  but  the  red  bump  im  seeing  now  ....keep  changing  water  once  in  day  80%  at  least  for  3-4  days  and  each  time  add  a  pinch  of  rock  salt  (not  black  salt  )...and  if  u  have  almond  leaves  bring  it  to  boil  to  get  the  black  extract  quickly  and  add  after  cooling  it  100ml  in  betta  tank  or  u  can  use  rid-all  anti-fungus  1drop  ..hope  it  will  be  ok  ...

Following  your  advice.  But  I  strongly  suspect  some  internal  infection.

I  believe  its  a  tumour.  As  long  as  he  is  swimming  and  eating  fine/behaving  fine,  you  can  ignore  it.  I  had  a  betta  that  lived  with  the  tumour  happily  for  an  year  with  me.  No  issues  at  all  with  him.  I've  tried  many,  but  none  helped.  Hope  the  instructions  from  biswanath  helps.  Wish  u  and  your  betta  good  luck.  Smile

Thanks  to  all  of  you  for  the  inputs.  Unfortunately  the  betta  died  the  next  morning.  Later  I  read  in  another  forum  and  realized  that  it  was  suffering  from  Hexamite  infection,  as  it  was  passing  white  stringy  stools  (visible  in  one  of  the  photos).  Main  reason  for  this  kind  of  infection  is  feeding  Tubifex  worms.

Its  OK  Aman.  I  am  still  not  fully  able  to  keep  my  bettas  live  for  months.

I  had  checked  for  Water,  Feeding,  Temperature  etc.  but  no  clue.

My  problem  was  they  eat  well,  play  well  but  go  on  getting  weaker  day  by  day.

   Sad
