Hello All,
I currenlty have a fish bowl which is a few months old. I'm planning to upgrade to actual tank. The selles says its used (imported)tank with the below dimensions. He's also included all the accessories filter/pump/5kg white aquarium sand/heater/ornaments & quoting me .
Dimensions:
Height : 16 inch
Width : 24 inch
Depth : 13.5 inch
Could you please let me know if it a decent amout to pay for this setup? |

Looks like a decent buy....
Any idea what make the filter and the pump is.
Please check for any scratches on the glass and functioning of all the accessories.
One final question, where are you from? |

@garothmaan - Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm not sure of the thickness of the tank. When you mean the tank "should be worth 75". Did you mean Rs.7500? |

@Vinod - Thanks, I'll check that out.
@garothmaan - Wow alrite.. Do think this setup is overpriced? I couldnt get the exact details of the filter but this is what he mentioned "The Aquarium already has the filter in it. There is also a motor that pushes water from the aquarium to the filter layer."
& me being a newbie doesnt help matters much. |

Show me that filter and the rest of the material. If the GUY is realy broke, then, may be you can be charitable. But if its a different scenario then try to exploit the situation (IMO). Can you find out how old is that cabinet? |

Check the Aquarium glass thickness, Scratches if any...and of course, if it has leaked previously and repaired before sell.
If that's the case, then I prefer to stay away from such purchase. Otherwise, it looks a good deal.
About other material such as filters, heaters, it's better to check the usage of these items and conditions before purchase.

@Sandy - Thanks for the headsup! The seller stays on the otherside of the city. So I've asked him to email me a few pics of the setup/accessories. I'll take it forward from there but since garothmaan said the glass is worth only Rs.75/- I'm really confused.
Could I get the aquarium that cheap? |

Dont rely on pics Abhi...make sure u take some time and personally chk them out.
Carefully observe for scratches, chipped edges , any small cracks , see functionality of all the accessories....
Dont follow heart in second hand buys as u n u only will be responsible for a bad buy.
Were you able to speak with the person whose contact I shared with you. |

@Vinod - No not yet.. I'd personally inspect the items before purchasing them.
Also, I needed a little help before I call up the dealer, I dont want to sound like a complete noob to him. I'm interested in Aquascaping so I wanted to know what type of substrate/lighting/filter would be necessary. Also, the height of the aquarium. I've been reading up a little, would if be cheaper if I go for a standard dimensions? |
