 Hi  Frnds,

      Today  I  visited  LFS..  There  i  got  a  news  that  we  can  use  Philips  trulight  6500k  for  planted  tank....  Each  (4'  36w)  and  (2'  18w)  Rs.  XX/-  only..

    What  you  thinking  about  this  light  for  4ocm  height  tank?  Can  i  use  some  three  lights  for  75  litres..

   Thank  you

 KarthickJK,

 A  couple  of  points.  No  SMS  language  and  no  quoting  the  prices.  Strictly.

 Regarding  your  question,

 We  have  been  growing  plants  with  Philips  Trulite  since  ages.  They  are  perfectly  alright  for  Moss,  Cryptocorynes  and  some  stem  plants.  In  fact  all  my  tanks  are  illuminated  using  these  same  lights.

 Regards,

 @Rasi:  Sorry  I  dont  know  about  the  rules..  That  is  why  I  used  to  put  price...

   @Nidhi:  My  tank  dimension  is  60(L),  30(B),  36(H)cm...  20  gallon..
                     Can  we  use  this  light  for  scapings?

 True  light  I  guess  is  T8  so  it  less  efficient  than  T5..  Basics  is  the  thicker  the  tube  the  less  lumens  they  produce  for  a  given  wattage.  And  HO  Means  High  Output,  HO  tubes  are  driven  at  higher  current  to  produce  more  lumens  than  the  regular  tubes.  but  they  will  not  last  as  long  as  the  normal  driven  tubes.  and  produce  much  more  heat.
 You  get  HO  in  almost  all  types  of  bulbs..  like  CFL,  PLL,  T5,  T8  etc..
 I  don't  know  about  the  cost  difference..  between  the  T5  and  PLL.

 T5  X  3  will  be  good  for  this  big  tank,  you  will  need  to  put  those  aluminium  foils  as  reflecters  to  increase  the  illumination  Smile

 I  dont  understand  that  why  people  get  confused......  its  the  intensity  and  PAR  that  counts......  if  measured,  LEDs  have  highest  PAR  and  Intensity,  thats  the  reason  they  shimmer.......  And  yes  buy  COB  led  floods,  not  SMD  floods.
